JMU is only one vote in their current conference. The departing CUSA schools, on the other hand, still control a supermajority of the conference, right up until the minute they leave. They're not going to vote to ban themselves from playing in (or hosting!) any conference championship events.
My understanding of the Conference by-Laws (someone posted it on CUSA board) is that once a School announces it is leaving, they no longer have a vote. So once MT and WK announce they are leaving, there are three voting members left. WK and MT still have a vote at the moment, but would still be the minority. UTEP, TECH, FIU control destiny right now. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Ok -- that might change things. Might.

You still need to have effective executive leadership to actually implement that. Somebody who wont be bullied into submission by the departing members.

Yall know of anyone like that down at CUSA HQ?

The MAC is not expected to make a decision today on Middle Tennessee & Western Kentucky, sources say.
The last realignment dominoes now rest with the MAC.

Supposedly the GOR is holding that up at the moment and I would not doubt that MT at least and maybe WK are having second thoughts. Geography and culture is better in CUSA still, plus they can share exit fees. The pros and cons change everyday on this, if MO STATE were to decide to jump in, that may really change things for MT and WK. MT and WK care about Basketball a lot, so MO STATE could change things, the look of the conference right now as far as Basketball may have actually improved.

Do we have a Janitor there?

Not sure how they will get to bully Judy Jeep when they have no leverage. When they made the announcement, they gave up everything practically.

They're still on the board. They can still vote to dismiss her.

    Actually ... hold on a minute ...

I just hope ULM doesn’t absorb us. But odds are about 1 in a billion of either happening, IMO.

Pass me off as old school but the dominant theme when FJTaylor was running things? EXCELLENCE. He demanded it. We don’t these days.
FJ was the Man! When I had my tour, Patsy Lewis was there, Between her and FJ, you would have a great first impression of TECH! Those days are gone, but they do not have to be, just need proactive leadership.

My son is enrolling at Tech in the fall. We did both Time out for Tech and a private tour. Both were great! The campus is looking really nice. The new Integrated Engineering and Science building is absolutely amazing! Tech Pointe is a big selling point. Carson Taylor and Bogard need some TLC. All the new dorms are really nice.

My nephew starts in the fall in business and he’s had a great experience from those giving tours.

I honestly think them and WKU might stay. They don't recruit in the MAC and this conference is actually pretty decent all things considered. If CUSA can get MO State, that should lock them in.
