Hasn’t been raining in 45 minutes. Could have played with a delay. However, I don’t want ULL to hand an excuse when we beat them like lsu tried to pull.
Looking for 4 seats for the Lafayette game on the 5th or the rescheduled game on the 6th if anyone has any insight. Thanks.
The late call happened again yesterday.
Not fair to fans who are trying to make plans to attend. Although fans KNEW it would be postponed, it would have been nice to make the call around 9:00AM or even on Monday night. Even worse was that he didn't notify fans regarding the makeup game until he was signing off on his show at almost 7:00PM. The "official" notice to Tech fans didn't happen until after 9:00PM.
We have some communication "issues" that need to be addressed.
When did LSU notify us that it was officially postponed? When did they announce it for their fan base? Just trying to establish what a big time school did so we can emulate them.
I understand that and I agree. That’s not the question though. Did we make the decision to postpone or did LSU? I would assume the home team or their conference are responsible for that decision. When did they know? When did we know from them? How long before the announcement to our fans? Bottom line is, what is the typical time for any team to notify in these situations. Do we have proof that other schools give 24-48 hour notice of postponement or cancellation?
Edit: Is that much notice what we should expect and is that reasonable?
LSU baseball first tweeted the reschedule out at 5:11 pm yesterday (Monday) afternoon -
They first tweeted out the postponement at 3:27 pm
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
I can vouch that the reschedule story shows a timestamp earlier than when I copied the link to the original postponement story that I first posted. The reschedule story was definitely not available on the LSU website at that time.
LSU is responsible for putting out information on an LSU home game. It would have been irresponsible for Tech to post something before LSU had first posted it.
So, we could have potentially had an announcement at 5:15pm on Monday and it happened at 9pm. Is the 3 and 1/2 hour delay an offense worth complaining about? Not accusing, just asking.
Can’t get much better than that. Game time was 6:00pm and you knew 24 hours ahead.
