Too many things went against us. Start time was bumped just 1 hour when rain was predicted to start anywhere from 3pm-6pm. They didn’t tarp the field knowing that a monsoon was coming. If they tarped it and the rain broke, they could have gotten in the rest of the 7th. Guys played hard. Hate the patronizing we are getting about a “good midweek showing”.

It's how an official baseball game that got past 5 innings has always ended if it had to be stopped. The score has always reverted back to the last completed inning if the team batting first scored in the inning that couldn't be completed.

The Halted Game Rule has allowed games to be suspended when there was a possibility the game could be resumed later. Burroughs said pregame that wasn't possible here.

As I posted before the game started, Tech needed to be ahead after 5 innings. It wasn't.

I know the rules of baseball, but that doesn't mean the rule wasn't used against us tonight when the start time could have been earlier, not tarping the field and OM not wanting to make up the last 3 innings when we offered to come up whenever. Also, the game was officially called for poor field conditions..... TECH has every right to be upset. In this instance, the team was collateral damage from all the instances said above and OM hide behind the rule. Plain and simple.

Burroughs didn't offer before the game. He was quoted from the pregame interview saying Tech wasn't coming back.

To use the Halted Game Rule on this type of situation, there would need to be an agreement on a continuation date before the game started.

Used to get ESPN+ included with our Disney subscription. Now, I can’t get + without a tv provider. Can’t see it, but I imagine Matulia is uppercut swinging for the fence. Other guys have stepped up to a degree. Outside of 1 bad throw to 1st, seems the defense has been solid.

Sure it is. They were going to play the one game, hopefully win it and leave town to rest their team up for their SEC opener which was far more important than Tech. If they lost one, well no big deal, 2 or 3 SEC wins would make up for that. But risking losing 2 to Tech while also depleting their pitching staff for an upcoming SEC series would be big time stupid for them. Don’t think for a moment that the big programs don’t consider the very best angles for themselves because they absolutely do. Even their early season heavy home game schedules attest to this thinking. Its how they get a head start on winning records, power rankings and rpi.

Watch and see that just like LSU, Ole Miss won’t be scheduling Tech again anytime soon and not too far off will be Arkansas joining their ranks .

Ahha, I have SEC Network, but not SECN+. Too many to keep track of. By the time you subscribe to enough to see any games, you might as well have the Cadillac package from Dish or Direct.
