Love this one.
I mentioned in the other thread that I'm reading a (nonfiction) book by David Byrne.
And a novel by Colin Meloy. On paper, the Decemberists always seemed like the kind of thing I'd really like, but I've never been able to get super into them (past a couple of songs). But I've been trying (again) lately prompted by reading this book and a few more songs have definitely jumped out and grabbed me. Still the kind of thing that I'd expect to like more than I actually end up liking, but I don't dislike it either. I don't know, maybe the jury is still out. If they'd have been a little earlier (in the cd era) they might have caught me.

So far we've managed to fend off getting the 7th grader her own phone, which means she listens to my spotify account a lot (on mine). My algorithm is pretty jacked anyway due to my listening habits, so I don't (really) mind that part so much. I do try to make sure it's playing something that I know a 7th grade girl would enjoy when I hand it to her though. You know, like Tom Waits. . .
Eurovision Song Contest is a good way to find music of the contestants and beyond. The German contestant this year - Lord of the Lost - did a great cover of the second place song Cha Cha Cha by Käärijä (which many think should have won) and their song for the contest wasn't bad (despite coming last). Also find some others, like Ollie out of Estonia who covers the winner every year but also has a few good originals. Another example: LoTL pointed me to a cover of Blinding Lights by Feuerschwanz that I enjoyed. And further, I got to Norwegian Reggaeton by Nanowar of Steel, which I found funny.
Point is, looking at the Eurovision contestants and fall down the rabbit hole of their music, similar music, covers, and so on opens up a lot of new music.
