RUSTON, La. – The Louisiana Tech Softball team fell to Middle Tennessee, 5-4 on Wednesday morning at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field. With the loss, the Lady Techsters were eliminated from the Conference USA Tournament. LA Tech finished its season with a 32-24 record, including a 13-12 mark in Conference USA play.

There’s nothing new under the sun. It’s truly tough to take but Tech is all about underachieving and it feels like it’s only going to get worse.
I think last year was an anomaly with the program in year one, considering the prior couple of seasons -
This year was a step back, but they played a much harder OOC schedule and no one overlooked them this year in conference
I think the program is still on track to get back to where Montgomery had them

Middle Tennessee beat North Texas today in the championship game today. I nice parting gift for an exiting school.
At least the team that beat Tech won the tournament.
This coaching staff is 71-44 for the past two years. I think we're headed in a good direction.
We will lose some stars in the offseason.

I like playing a tougher OOC schedule. A lot of our teams don't and I know some of it money related etc.. and fans don't like the losses, but I think it helps in preparing the players for adversity and improving mentally/tactically. So many times have our teams played weak OOC and then stumbled in conference play to lesser teams than us. We don't play in that tough of a conference.. in most sports there are 2-3 good teams 2-3 average teams and 3-6 bad teams. For us, and most school like us, winning your conference tournament is the only way to be guaranteed a spot in the post season.
There is a balance to scheduling enough to have a quality schedule without destroying a teams confidence.
One of our pitchers enters the portal. I won’t call any of our player/potential players a commit ever again. Can’t even say coaches are committed. Annual free agency. That’s all this is.
And THERE is the crux of the problem with college sports now. The university wants mine and your hard commitment in terms of financial support and attendance. And yet, our coaches, players and even the school's athletic administration folks are not really committed. All will leave instantly if given the chance.Originally Posted by techman05
We've had so much turnover at LA Tech in all sports, I can't even keep with who we are anymore. I don't think I can name 3 starters on Tech's men's basketball team or our football team. I saw a couple of weeks ago that we even have a new female Director of LTAC now. Well, I truly wish her the best. But I sincerely hope this isn't just an attempt by our leadership to check another woke box.

LA Tech Softball has been very stable the past two years under current coaches. The one pitcher is the only player to enter the transfer portal under the current staff. Otherwise, we've only lost graduates the past two years.
Looking at the portal, it's shocking how many players jump ship. Over 200 have entered the portal in the past week. Sad that they do not know a large percentage will not be picked up by another team. There are teams that have lost 6-8 players to the portal since May 1.
Saw it on Twitter the other day, but can’t find it now. One of our freshman who had a good year.
