And the money I guess. It was a bad hand we went in with, you gotta just get what you can get sometimes. Can't be good for us long term, but whatcha gonna do? The realignment wheels will spin again (maybe even soon), things could certainly get worse, but given where we're at - they'll almost certainly get better.

On field success would take some sting out.

I hate this deal. I know they probably couldn't have done any better and when life gives you conference realignment lemons your options are pretty limited (lemonade is still lemonade I guess, even if you had to make it with splenda or something).

But the fans in Shreveport or DFW or Baton Rouge are our fans now. And their kids (who have school the next day) are most likely our future. I like maction as much as the next college football fan, but it hasn't changed how I look at Akron or Bowling Green one bit once the game ends. Doesn't seem to have improved any team's lot in life very much from that conference (other than the increased budget I guess since, like us, they'd probably have less payout for Saturdays on streaming only). The real hope here is another wave of realignment that rolls us into the SB or AAC.

Maybe the students will like it. It's actually more convenient for me. But it seems penny-wise pound foolish from a distance.

Better than nothing or ESPN+ only and peanuts for the payout. I think. Maybe?

I'll miss at least 2 games this year (WKU/NMSU) because I won't be able to get over from S'port. My son has FB practice and also won't be able to make it. Even our first game on a Saturday starts at 8pm, so it'll be close to 1am before we get home (luckily my oldest is driving now).
