DAWGS….
We have a running back stable. We have tight ends! Our OL was good. Overall, these guys hung tough and did not give up.
Sonny needs to just call solid plays and not try and get cute like that stupid 2 point conversion. On to Dallas….

Whew!
Props to the team for fighting until the end. It would have been easy to quit when behind, like some posters here did.
Smoke gives hope to every guy with a beer gut.
That heat had to be brutal for all the players. It’s 93 on my patio after the game.
Pathetic. But fortunately for us CUSA is below pathetic. Play calling? R U kidding me! Little kids playing in a vacant lot could come up with a better gameplan. Barnes did his usual choke job. Thank God it didn't come down to another FG attempt, egad! I would say good job of the defense, after the 1st qtr, but this is frickin' FIU! So, BFD.
As I said, thankfully we are in the worst FBS conference, a real joke, so it's possible to win some conference games. Well, not "win" per se. Like tonight, we just didn't suck as bad as FIU and hung around until they lost the game.
I just can't see a path to 6-6 for this team looking at the schedule which is scary considering it's not a very hard one. Jacksonville State and SHSU are transitioning teams but they were competent and good FCS teams but I don't think we win those games.
Just watched the DVR replay without knowledge of the winner.
Tech defense faced something unscouted early, made adjustments, finished the game solid.
The offense settled down. RB depth was needed, and used.
Results were the one every fan wants.
Remount and reload the wagon. 11 games to go.
This team, over 60 minutes of play, did its part.

Yes, I was especially pleased with the defense. Special teams was the only issue in FGs. FIU did a good job punting and kicking to keep Smoke in place. Kicking it through the endzone is something Skip never understood. He ALWAYS tried to pin them behind the 25 which rarely ever did what he wanted in 10 years of bad special team play.
The No Name defense pitches a shutout in the second half. Hope springs eternal
In the 1st quarter I was thinking, yeah, as much as we suck, I wouldn't want my name on my jersey either. Wouldn't want anyone to know who I was. Speaking of uniforms...we looked like our uniform order got lost in the mail and we had to patch something together for this game. Smoke had the wrong size pants on and had to do the waste band rollover thingy to keep them up. Not a good look...couldn't even lean on a good performance on the field.
Gotta get our chit together.
Im pretty sure they were not planning to wear those uniforms at the beginning of the week.
Players were allowed to pick the uniform combo. We ordered the red too late in the summer and didn’t have time to get names stitched in. Players said they didn’t care. We teched it up not making sure the order would be in time no matter what. True freshman who was a safety 11 days ago scored the winning TD. DeColdest didn’t play. Lots of injuries apparently. Not sure how severe most of them may be. We had almost as many walk ons in t-shirts as we had dressed guys. That’s a rough way to start.
