The one thing that Henderson could do at Tech to increase revenue bs expense and expand our enrollment is build out Tech Online.

His previous institutions (BPCC and NSU) have robust online learning. Much better than our pitiful offerings. Liberty built itself through online education (and is now taking a sizeable chuck of online homeschooling parents!!!)

There is so much growth there and we are not currently capitalizing on it.

Guice created Tech Online, but the infrastructure of campus support services was so geared toward on-campus students, it will take time to expand those services. It's wise not to roll out a bunch of online programs without supports in place. Don't know about Liberty, but NSU's on-campus experience and student numbers have changed with their focus on growing their online presence.

NSU's online programs have destroyed the on-campus experience. This will lead to a steady deterioration of the other aspects of the college experience. Right now faculty are required to maintain something like just 10 office hours per week as most of them operate from home as well. Yes, this is the future of college. For-profit institutions like the Univ. of Phoenix began changing the landscape of getting a college degree and many others have followed suit, like the Univ. of Southern New Hampshire, for instance. So, while it can be very profitable, it will also most certainly put that final nail in the coffin of the traditional universities.

Going to need better online offerings. It would probably help enrollment.

I agree with that for undergrad degrees, however, there are other areas that Tech could pursue. It would be great if we could offer Graduate level online classes, or maybe a RN-BSN program online. Those type programs are lucrative, and those students usually are not on-campus students anyway.

All of this is a crooked as a dog’s hind leg.

If Henderson is named, he will have a dark cloud over his head his entire tenure.

I hope this is behind the scenes work with a grand plan in place. But knowing Tech, we will fall flat on our face and will be the laughing stock of the state.

Here's a list of the programs Tech has, definitely more graduate programs than anything. https://online.latech.edu/programs/?_sort_=ascending

The RN-BSN program has been approved by the state and it is online. They can't advertise it until SACS approves it. Already has students taking classes, just not technically in the degree.

Wasn't the RN-BSN degree nixed in the 80's by the state? I remember Tech having the best 2 year degree in nursing, but the state gave the 4 year degree to Grambling and ULM (Northeast at that time). I am sure things have changed, but there were a lot of angry faculty in our nursing department from what I remember.

Let's hope they now have the 4-year degree. It leads to better job offers down the road when administration spots oopen up.

The announcement reads...Henderson will assume the office beginning January 1, 2023.

Can't even get a simple date right.

A cloud will always follow him around...no search, just a political appointment. I am at my low point for support of TECH...this is embarrassing! He could be a great pick but the clouds will always be there.
I'm an asshole! What's your excuse?
