You got to love the passion of ULMs Athletic Director John Hartwell at their pess conference, saying nothing funny about getting your tails whipped. He saw ULM players crying and some laughing in their beatdown at ULL. ULM had beaten Army at home this year. Army Beat a undefeated Air Force.
Agreed. At this point, better to pray that Henderson does clean house in one big swing for the fences.

Honest Question... What's to prevent Cumby from just mailing it in next season.. He probably know's he's gone especially with 50% of his key players going to the portal. What incentive does he have? I would expect him to be in the job search next hear as his priority. Is there anything in his contract that talks about lack of effort etc.?

Hope is NOT a strategy. And if you watched any LA Tech football at all this year, you KNOW things are NOT going to get better. You're just prolonging the agony and running off more alumni and customers.
Any new coach (and AD, don't forget it's got to be a package deal) is going to take time to settle in. You're not just prolonging the problem, you're prolonging the solution.
Henderson starts in January officially correct? With the damage already done by Wood and Cumbie, how much worse would the recruiting class be by bringing in a coach in January or February? With the portal being what it is, and no good players wanting to come be Crumbied for their career, could the new coach fill all the holes? I gave up on trying to follow recruiting a few years ago, and with the portal I don't even try.
Henderson MIGHT do something, but I wouldn't count on it. First, Henderson will probably want to get settled in and focus on academics his first year. But, really, I don't expect much from Henderson. He probably still has, and displays, the football with the 2014 loss to NSU results painted on it. I know he showed me that football up on the shelf in his office at NSU. Actually, I think Henderson is here for the paycheck and to get to 20 years in the retirement system, then he and his wife will move to Florida to be close to their grandchildren.
I know I come across as being cynical. But that's only because I am!
I don't expect anything from him because of the way he was hired. Thats why I have stopped spending my time and money after 40+ years on the dumpster fire. When my dad wants to go to a game I by everyone tickets and we go because I want to spend that quality time with my dad. Sadly, while we love Tech and still enjoy ourselves, at both our ages the increased blood pressure after watching 5 minutes of a game isn't safe for either of us
I think you are right. There is really no reason for Henderson to rock the boat at all. He'll get what he needs and leave.
