Who wants to be the next "Jeff Driskel" who can transfer to Tech and do great things?
This website doesn't always include every player in the portal, but it does a pretty good job for the most part. https://247sports.com/season/2024-fo...utionkey=24121
Looks like an entirely new OLine next year.
That interview with the empty suit today spoke volumes...I think one of his quotes is that he and Cumbie are both "learning on the job"
Even Oklahoma can’t hold on to a QB
The list of QBs in the portal, right now, is about 40. Bachmeier is listed in the Second Tier, there are 18 QBs in the First Tier. They do say injuries prevented him from settling in here. That is true, but he never showed me anything anyway, even without the injury excuse, er, reason.
Very well said. The days of players coming in as freshmen and then maybe redshirting and staying for 5 years are basically over. The student athlete being with your program and you getting to know them as a Tech family member are over. I personally do not like it. It's a free market and $$ drives it now. There are no freshmen on our basketball team. Guys like Isaiah Crawford being a Dunking Dawg for awhile are few and far between.
He wasn't ready for "Prime Time" (according to Coach Prime), but maybe Luke Eckardt could help us out. “He said he is considering offers from Louisiana Tech and Eastern Kentucky and receiving interest from Utah State and Coastal Carolina.”

NIL discussion at our low G5 level has begun.
So . . . I give an idea.
Who in the hell do you think the sharing of the link was aimed?
The collective minds from the 16th floor over to the Alum Foundation and down the hill to the LTAC go-getters.
I'll even let it be their idea.
(BTW-the AD and the LTACers have heavy UArkansas experience.)
Y'all want another idea?
Require a minor in industrial psychology of future coaches after they've got their teaching credentials in math, or history, or drivers ed. Tech has a head start in that department with the Athletics Council faculty rep having that background.
(Jimmy Johnson didn't do bad at all with his IP degree (from UArkansas) with the Cowboys.)

I mean, OSU's Gundy is in the portal. His dad is his coach!
People go into the portal for two reasons…
1. They think they can get more or better somewhere else. (At our level it is few and far between. MAYBE 5 players on our roster will be better off elsewhere. Most will wind up at a FCS program or lower.)
2. Differences with the staff.
Punter is gone. That’s it! The last straw! We will never recover!
