Henderson MIGHT do something, but I wouldn't count on it. First, Henderson will probably want to get settled in and focus on academics his first year. But, really, I don't expect much from Henderson. He probably still has, and displays, the football with the 2014 loss to NSU results painted on it. I know he showed me that football up on the shelf in his office at NSU. Actually, I think Henderson is here for the paycheck and to get to 20 years in the retirement system, then he and his wife will move to Florida to be close to their grandchildren.

I know I come across as being cynical. But that's only because I am!

Cynical? Why yes! That's why we get along most of the time.

Henderson was not a athletics guy at NSU (says my well-connected guy back in the day). However, even in the last couple of months, as UL-system head he did have remote involvement in the followup to the NSU tragedy and the PR face they showed.

He also has some damage control over his cute remarks aimed at Tech during commencement ceeremonies back in the day. (quotes my fellow Tech grad whose son got his masters at NSU so he may continue his Lincoln Parish higher ed position.)

He has an opportunity to become a difference in our sandbox. Praying that happens.

Cumbie lost his players near the end of the season. Players absolutely quit on him! I don’t see that turning around! 18-22 year olds don’t switch their loyalty back. The portal will be very busy if they can find another school. Any film on these players from this past year would be underwhelming. He will have to create some magic tricks to get good players next season. I definitely agree he should get another year because other coaches that may be interested will have to know they will get at least a 3 year chance to succeed. I think we are all going to have to hold our noses for this next season and then hope we can find an awesome hire for HC!
