Even though Iso and Batcho are good, and they are, you will note why/how we lose games: guard play. McHenry killed us and now that little white dude, all 5'10" of him, totally made us look silly and helpless. I have been saying we need a point guard but that's only because we do. Not gonna happen this year so we are doomed to lose in the conference tourney and miss the Dance again when some guard for some other team toasts us. If I were an opposing team I would press the chit out of Tech. Full-court pressure for 40 minutes...only they wouldn't have to do it for 40 minutes because after no more than 25 minutes they would be 20+ points ahead and have won the game.
Oh well, it was fun for a little while this year. I actually, foolishly got some hope up....dashed again!![]()
If the game is close late in the ballgame, I'm pretty sure the opposing coaches are looking at our bench in closing minutes like Bobby Knight used to look at Dale Brown -
What was his quote - "I was slightly concerned being down with a few minutes to play, but then I realized it was Dale at the end of the other bench..."
We have a LOW basketball IQ - very low
And our stars SHRINK in crunch time
And D80 hit the nail squarely - you HAVE to HAVE 14 or less turnovers on the road if you expect to win
We can blame the refs all we want to - but this team is NOT fundamentally sound as is mentally weak
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
Was talking to a buddy. We both cringe when Hester calls a timeout after our opponent goes on a run to close the gap. We usually give up 4-6 straight points out of a timeouts. At least it seems so.
So, in other words the end result analysis is that Tech is still Tech and when it comes to finishing anything in any sport our coaches aren’t good enough for the task and our teams trip all over themselves to eventually lose.
