Brady Drost's career average at Tech is .202 in 193 AB. He's struck out 71 times, or 36% of his at bats. Why does Burroughs keep putting him in the lineup?

Will Safford's career average at Tech is .210 in 138 AB.

I think it is absolutely wise to take Corona out in a blowout game. More so from an injury perspective than a "rest" perspective. There is practically zero reward in leaving him in - He is a key asset to the team. If we are winning in blowout fashion, and heaven forbid he gets injured running to first, hbp, or any other wild scenario baseball offers, then we would be kicking ourselves.

Can't even offer a best guess at why this keeps happening. Even if the coaching staff is of the opinion that Brody's defense is better than others in RF, it is not nearly worth the trade-off in production for offense.

You’re exactly right. Drost’s defense is not exceptional. More often than not he makes the routine play and maybe occasionally he makes a hat tip play but that’s about it. In his case, unlike Myers’ defensive prowess, this is no looking the other way for Drost’s inept batting. Thankfully, so far Drost’s bat hasn’t been called for in a clutch moment to win a game but if he were to continue to play it would only be a matter of time and come that time I think the Tech fans would be more likely to be hanging their heads in disappointment.

What is Saffords OB% compared to rest of team. Seems his is on base and scores a lot. At least in the early going, he has crossed home plate multiple times.

Safford's OBP is .316. The team's OBP is .430 - He has scored 3 times this season (to answer your question)

Now this has gotta be our best lineup, offensive wise:
    Furr
    McConnell
    Davis
    Bates
    Corona
    Myers
    Ballard
    Evans
    McLeod

Sure wish I could watch this!

It’s looking like the Tech team has kind of taken the night off so far with the pitching slumping and the batting being pretty much next to nothing. It’s not too late for a big comeback but the Dawgs can’t wait much longer. Go Dawgs let’s get the attitude back.

Game 13 was the streak breaker. Oh well it was historic and fun while it lasted. Congratulations to the Dawgs on a great start to the season.

Two midweek games in the same week as an important weekend series isn’t good scheduling.

Thats the kind of scheduling you do with a weak team coming in for the weekend.

So, did they have guys just throwing seeds or was it more on our hitters?

Their pitching was not dominant. Our bats were just cold at the wrong times.

    Those dang late inning LOBs.
Timing of last night's loss better than coming this weekend.

All-conference CUSA catcher this season is going to be a brutal choice for those voters to make. Obviously we know who we'd pick, but DBU and SHSU have stars at the position as well. Top of this conference is really good. I don't want any more expansion, but a silver lining to adding Missouri State would be their baseball (and they apparently have quite a rivalry with DBU from their Missouri Valley days).
