It ain’t cheap
It ain’t cheap
Then it probably won’t make it. Ruston needs a place for breakfast without the word House in the name. But it still needs to be affordable.
If they handle business like the one in Monroe does, they will make it...
Folks will pay a premium for great service and good food
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
The service part seems to be the problem in Ruston.
This is excellent news for Lincoln Parish diners. Owned by Glen Lewellyn and his wife, the service staff will be well trained and the food is inviting. We eat in the Monroe store every Sunday . . . if we remember to make our 12:15 reservation by Friday (Monroe 1st Baptist just moved nearby!)
This is not Glen's first Ruston rodeo. He came from the popular WM Chili's to open the Ruston Chili's which became very popular.
He's trained with the Paula Deen organization in Dallas and managed the Monroe Copeland's. Professional Staff training is his calling card. His wife is the chef.
They toured the South to find the right recipes for their Delta Biscuit concept and have hit a home run.

What is the deal with college students not wanting to work? Do scholarships cover gas, rent, utilities, groceries, books, and tuition? Friend owns Log Cabin and had a fit getting servers after the covid lull. Still the best place to eat in town, because of the service first and food is good.
Ruston Mayor Ronny Walker says that the Buc-ee's expansion into north Louisiana is making progress and is on track for a late 2025 or early 2026 opening.
He anticipates work will start as early as October of this year.
He also said that the Ruston Buc-ee's will follow the new standard model of 74,000 square feet instead of the previously estimated size of 53,000 square feet.
Walker's hope is that the estimated 15,000 new cars coming in every day to the new Buc-ee's will go to other Ruston businesses and restaurants and that more people will "check out" Louisiana Tech and Grambling as a result.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and the state are making progress ironing out the details between the engineering companies about the construction and traffic study, according to Walker.

It’s odd for sure. I get the Walmart and the Market on opposite sides of town. Both do well. I don’t know how this will go. It will definitely hurt Ruston Grocery, which I hate for them.
