I know...no real reasoning unless he really believes he is our best 10th outfielder/hitter. So, we are an injury away from that.

The pinch runner thing again (he did it Sunday too) was a little surprising. Comeaux is not slow, but I suppose Berch is our go to designated runner when needing 1 run. Would he put Berch in to run for Ballard or Furr? I thought he did it on Sunday just to get McLeod in the game for senior Day.

Hoping we saw Liberty use its' best pitching yesterday. The announcers mentioned that Liberty has been struggling in the bull pen.

DBU has got its mojo back. WKU rallied to gain a split with NMSU. FIU got a good road win over Iowa. Don't know if Iowa is a bubble team, overall record is 29-21 and they are 14-10 in Big 10 play, often that is good enough for a Power 5 school to get an at-large. Nah, Iowa's RPI is 99. Regardless that's a good road win for FIU. Jax State at SHSU got rained out. Jax State needs to sweep the series and hope that MTSU gets swept by DBU. The latter is very likely to happen, doubtful about Jax State's chances. But, if both happens then Jax State will leapfrog MTSU and will be in Ruston next week.

Liberty has good pitching, suspect defense (except Troyer in RF who is legit good), and a very Blah! offense. Their TV guys, who are pretty good, mentioned the difference in LU's record when they score 6+ runs in a game. Realistically, I am hoping/expecting a split today and winning the series. But there's that part of me that wants the sweep. Get out the brooms Dawgs! Bats will have to come alive for that to happen.

I watched a little of DBU's demolition of MTSU and heard it said DBU is approaching 100 HRs this season as a team. We have 70+ HRs, right? Something like that. Was watching Missouri State earlier this week, playing in their large AA Pro ballpark (Springfield Cardinals), and they passed the 100-HR mark two weeks ago.

If they don't get the 3rd win, how will that affect the standings? If we sweep, we win the conference. If we split today and DBU doesn't get a 3rd game, I think we would have one more loss than them, but the same number of victories. We own the tie breaker, but I am curious on how this would affect that.

Liberty cuts the deficit in half on a 2-run HR to deep right. Luke Nichols had been magnificent to that point with 5 Ks. Still giving Tech a quality start.
