RFK Jr.'s endorsement will help Trump's election bid. According to the numbers, it's projected to boost Trump's chances in Wisconsin and Michigan but harm his chances in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. The difference is Trump is still expected to carry North Carolina, and Penn is a toss-up, while RFK's move is handing Wis. and Mich. to Trump. But, I don't trust such projections. These pollsters/pundits don't know how voters will react, those who were planning to vote for RFK, Jr. It's nothing but a guess. Some of them will NOT vote for either Trump or Harris, some will still pull the lever for RFK, Jr. as a protest vote, since he is still on the ballot in many states, and some will vote for some other minor candidate.
Our nation is polarized. I have had some heated exchanges with friends, and now some former friends, as their intense, irrational hatred of Trump, with no merit for it, has driven us apart. Good riddance. I realize they were never really "friends" anyway, not when they harbor so much hate for our country.

Okay...if we accept the current polls (and yeah, I know, I know, but play along) as they stand today, then all Trump needs to win the election, to get to 270 EC votes, is for him to win both Georgia and Pennsylvania. Together they have 35 EC votes (Ga 16 Penn 19) and Trump is sitting firmly on 235 EC votes now. Trump is ahead, right at the upper edge of the "margin of error" which means he's within 1% in the polls of locking up Georgia. So, that takes us to Pennsylvania. Trump leads in Penn. with 48% Harris 47% with 5% undecided, obviously within the margin of error, and that can flip back and forth between now and November...and importantly remember, early voting starts in Penn. in late September, which is why the Sept 10th debate is so crucial to both candidates.
Okay, so Trump leads in Penn. Well, as a reminder, it was Penn, specifically Philadelphia, where the biggest election fraud occurred in 2020. It was close then, with Trump actually winning Penn, but the dems stole the state, those crucial 20 EC votes, and the election. Penn had 20 EC votes back in 2020, 19 this time. The dems also stole Michigan, (16) and Georgia (16). The dems also stole Nevada (6) and there is some evidence they stole Arizona as well (11), but that affected Kari Lake's bid for the governorship more than it did the POTUS race.
So, fine Trump leads in Penn, but at 48-47% with 5% undecided, and that being well within the dems' capacity to cheat enough to steal it again, we need Trump to carry other states as well. Both Michigan (16) and Wisconsin (10) are leaning toward Trump in 3/4 of all polls, and in the other polls it is a statistical tie.
Say it ain't so! Just saw a video claiming Harris was not born in the US, and thus is ineligible to run for POTUS. I'm not going to spend too much time following this story...unless it gets really good with strong evidence. Even if Harris is not eligible, it doesn't matter, such things are not intended for democraps, laws don't apply to them.

North Carolina is now delaying the start of their early voting because RFK Jr. won his lawsuit to get off the ballot. So, ballots have to be reprinted leaving him off. Stupid Dems sued to keep RFK Jr off the POTUS ballots, now they are suing to keep him on thinking some voters will vote for RFK Jr. instead of Trump. But, they are so dumb. Those voters can vote for any other third-party candidate if they don't like Trump or Harris. RFK Jr. being on or off the ballot doesn't change that. BUT! this is great news for Trump in NC. Now no one can vote until after the Sept 10 debate. Dems shot themselves in the foot on this one.

maybe the wrong thread for this, but i just listened to the beyond 1894 podcast from back in january when they interviewed jim henderson. i was struck by the fact that he just seems to exude leadership. he is clearly a thoughtful person and has the ability to clearly communicate his thoughts. whether he is ultimately successful in his current role depends on more than that, but it seems like it should be a minimum requirement for anyone with the title "president".
well, that provided some great contrast when i listened to the debate just a couple of hours later. not sure if either of the two people on that stage tonight has ever had an original thought worth communicating, and neither can communicate in a way that would give anyone confidence in their leadership.
how is it that the apparently nepotistic/cronyistic political appointment of a university president in louisiana yields better results than the "democratic" process?
i may wind up voting for trump (no way i could ever vote for harris), but i will hate myself for it if i do.
