Wow, talk about an incredibly uninteresting game. Tech didn’t do anything.
Other than no hitting, poor pitching....we did well!

This team sucks! Defense has been good, pitching "okay" at best, but we have no bats. None! Zilch! If, a big IF, pitching manages to hold up and the defense continues to be solid, the Diamond Dawgs will win some games, but most teams we play also have solid defense and decent pitching. And most of them also have offense.
This bunch will finish below .500.

They looked good today.
Todays game was more like what a Tech baseball team is supposed to look like. Great job Dawgs! Now please just stay on this path. I was very concerned that for way too long we couldn’t do much with their slow throwing lefty. You’d think after a couple of innings we would’ve figured out what he was throwing… curve, curve, fastball (87-88), curve and curve. He was their version of Harland. I guarantee Memphis won’t be coming back to Ruston to see anymore CUSA officiating. I wish I didn’t have to see it either because it absolutely sucks!
Yep, hit three homers, including a grand slam, and a team usually looks good. The long ball, power, has been the missing ingredient thus far this season. Had it today though.
It’s all about pitching.

Brooks Roberson has had two good and one bad outing so far. I like this kid, see the potential. Fortunately, due to our lousy coaching, Roberson will never develop into the great pitcher he can be and therefore might not be gobbled up in the portal.
Tech needs a new pitching coach and a hitting coach and a head coach that sees that he needs to improve his assistant coaches. One of Burroughs biggest flaws is that he can’t get past continuing to give repeat underachieving players and coaches more and more chances to do the same things over and over again. It’s a serious team defeating and program harming problem. Are y’all noticing that Safford only takes about one underhanded throw per (dance routine) warmup and then tries to shake the hurt out of his arm. Before it’s all said and done Tech is going to need another SS so Burroughs better start developing one. Maybe if given a chance we’ll find out that the backup can hit some too.
