Okay. I love a good blow out as much as the next guy but when a team is up by 15 in the 9th your hitters should be swinging at anything close and the ump should not be squeezing the other pitcher. Get this game over.

A frickin' football score. Glad for the win, but that ain't baseball. I'd rather win 1-0 than win games like this. Of course, there is one thing worse than winning a game like this and that is losing a game like this. Wichita State pounded out 16 hits and we committed 3 errors. By any measure that is a horrible game.

After Friday’s game of ridiculousness there’s no way to know what’s going to happen Saturday. Burroughs had better be quick to react and adjust if he hopes to win Tech’s second series. Obviously giving up 12 runs in 99% of games is going to result in a loss so the Dawgs can’t repeat that effort and it’s next to impossible that they’re going to score that many themselves. Tech is still playing a shell game with its lineup with flashes of good and bad. Almost the whole team seems to bat in peaks and valleys. Only a few players are reasonably consistent.
What kind of crap baseball is this? Who puts these guys on the mound? Someone has to be watching them in the bullpen. If they can’t throw it straight down the middle 6 out of 10 times don’t put them in. Tech’s pitcher management is garbage.

Burroughs putting Harland in to start the 8th inning is conceding the game. Harland always gives up hits and runs, it’s a guarantee. As long as Fouts is Tech’s pitching coach we’ll underachieve. Burroughs and Fouts don’t have a clue what to do about pitching.
Today’s game is exactly what mismanaging a pitching staff looks like.
Going to the bottom of the 7th inning Tech was ahead 6-3 and then their ineptitude in managing their pitchers got started.
Forsythe’s first batter BKBBKB (walk), second batter FSBFB (hit by pitch), third batter B (sac bunt single error) = bases loaded 0 outs.
Crider comes in for Forsythe… Crider’s first batter BBBKB (walk) RBI 6-4, second batter BBBKB (walk) RBI 6-5, third batter BBBKB (walk) RBI 6-6.
Evidently Crider wasn’t ready to pitch. He threw 12 balls to 3 strikes. Who in the bullpen said he was warmed up and throwing strikes? All we do is set ourselves up for failure. Maybe Crider can pitch Sunday and be genuinely warmed up when he goes in.
Nichols relieves Crider… Nichols’ first batter BBBB (walk) RBI Wichita went ahead 7-6 and eventually won easily, second batter KKBBBS (SO), third batter BBBK (triple), fourth batter FS (single). The score is now 11-6. Might as well pull Nichols because the game is lost. Maybe he can still pitch Sunday.
Harland relieves Nichols… Harland’s first batter KFBBS (SO), second batter BKB (single), third batter BBKFFB (ground out), fourth batter KSB (single on error), fifth batter BBF (sac bunt), sixth batter BBKBB (walk), seventh batter K (single), eighth batter first pitch (double), ninth batter KB (single), tenth batter BBK (sac fly rbi), eleventh batter KBKFBS (SO) game over. Harland shouldn’t even be taking up a pitcher spot at Tech. He’s a high school level pitcher and has been for 4 years.
In the 7th & 8th innings Tech threw 32 strikes and 48 balls. They walked 6 batters, hit 1 batter, had 2 errors, gave up 6 hits and allowed 12 runs. They went from leading 6-3 to losing 15-6.
Big congratulations to Roberson on a very strong pitching performance today that saved the weekend.
Great pitching today vs. Friday and Saturday.
Hope the portal doesn't eat him up, but it probably will. He's the only starter we have at this point.
Finally, a game that kind of looked like baseball. Of course, Wichita helped with that 3-run error. As for Roberson, he's got tremendous potential, so he'd be a frickin fool not to transfer to a real baseball program.
The best thing that could happen to Tech is for Fouts to get into the portal and end up somewhere else
