    CUSA Baseball 2025

Starting this thread as a place to post news/comments about the conference in general.

And, a good first comment is WKU's win at DBU last night. I watched a good bit of it. WKU's bullpen was very impressive...last night. Don't know if they can be consistent throughout the season. DBU is "struggling" by their usual standards. If WKU enjoys a stellar conference run, and if they have a ranked team or two left on their non-conf schedule, which they win, then WKU can play its way into an at-large bid spot. WKU is now 26-4 overall, but they played a rather weak schedule early on.

It’s all about RPI in baseball. We discuss this every year….for non P5 schools, low 30s RPI are in. High 30s with 40 wins are in 90% of the time. Unlike MBB the selection committee rarely, if ever fudges in favor of P5 teams. Baseball is still a small dot on the ESPN radar.

Understood. The question is can WKU or any other CUSA team work its way into the lofty RPI rankings.

And, technically, it's P4 now that the Pac 12 no longer exists.

DBU is struggling, it's possible they drop back into the 40's and out of at-large contention. I think CUSA will be a one-bid league this year, just the autobid. Of course, it is possible to get two in, but CUSA has to win those non-conference games and just 2 or 3 teams separate themselves from the pack in conference play.

Do I see that Nolan has DBU 31st and WKU 33rd? If that is true in the RPI than both are in contention for an at-large bid.

Every year you say CUSA is a “one bid league”. You may get lucky and finally be right this year, but it’s way too early to predict. Like I always tell you this time of year…stick to WBB

RPI is a garbage system built to favor the big conferences and keep the smaller schools blocked out. The whole thing begins with a school’s name and then when you add in all the early season home field games advantage the major conferences have especially the SEC it’s a ready made built in head start.

RPI has been our best friend when we got at large bids. RPI had us in last year before we won the tournament

What tournament did we win last year? I remember DBU clobbering us in the CUSA tournament championship game.

WKU is ranked in the top 25 now. I assume their RPI is rising too. CUSA can be a two-bid league again. I always say CUSA can be/should be a two-bid league...

Nope college baseball is the ONLY sport RPI helps us

The home losses to So Ala and Memphis is what's hurting our RPI right now

Win one more game each of those series and get the Lamar win at home and we are a sub 60 RPI

And historically the committee has rewarded strong RPI schools from G5 conferences come selection time
