Only bad things that can possibly happen is 1) to get a key player injured 2) lose to a SWACer.

Hopefully the Dawgs rout these bums, and LB clears the bench getting some players some PT. You will note their non-conference record is 2-22.

Our RPI will go down with 2 wins. If we were sitting at 40 right now we’d be at 50+ with 2 wins. LB had to know this and our AD should have nixed it. Had to have something to do with season ticket sales just for extra home games.

I wonder why in what was essentially a practice game with another one tomorrow why any of the following pitchers don’t or hardly ever play Havern, Swistack, Harmon, Tarini, Magee, Roberson, Cooley, Dolby, Croft, Harris, Judice, Pierce, & Schexnaydre? I suppose the obvious answer is that they aren’t any good which leads to the second part of the question, can’t Fouts develop pitchers. Historically Tech pitches the same guys over and over until they’re worn out. Case in point this year could be Hooks who appears to be getting worse and worse.

Hooks and Nation got rocked last night. Our pitchers can't seem to deal with SWAC teams; Grambling hit 3 HRs and scored 6 runs, last night APB scored 6 runs, with one of their guys hitting his first HR of the season. These SWAC teams are HORRIBLE! Check out the whole list of RPI rankings and see which conference, along with the NEC, occupies all the bottom spots.

After getting up 10-1 the Dawgs slept-walked the rest of the way. Baseball is a funny sport, as Teddy Allen always says, "lots of twists and turns." Gotta put teams away, secure wins. This team lacks the killer instinct. Let's see what happens tonight. But I do know this, APB now thinks they can steal a win in Ruston.

Tech has never fared very well against slow speed pitching, it’s our kryptonite. Something else Tech tends to do in all sports is play to our competition whether it’s above us or below us. We can play up to DB one day and then down to APB the next and no it’s not just baseball. That’s a lazy excuse for what’s really poor coaching preparation and lacking motivation. It doesn’t matter if it’s Burroughs or coach Crumbie.

The Dawgs were clueless knowing how to adjust to Voth's slow stuff. LB said the players need to learn to adjust to different pitching styles. Ok. But who is supposed to coach them to do so?

The Dawgs might have rallied for a win last night, trailing 6-4 in the 5th inning, and looking like they were starting to get to Voth; or perhaps Voth was tiring. But the fact Tech would have had to rally against a SWACer does not bode well.

Well, Bone_afide_Dawg (its interesting that the first letter in each word of Bone_afide_Dawg forms the acronym BaD) is right about one thing. The Diamond Dawgs-- win, lose or draw-- are always my team. Perhaps BaD can explain who the you is in his sentence shown in bold above. LSU got pasted when they played Northwestern State, but no one in their right mind would claim that LSU represents mediocrity. I have no clue what he is talking about when he says treat grown men like little boys.

Tech defeated APB on Tuesday evening, and unfortunately the Wednesday game was not completed because of weather. So we will never know who would have won that contest. Yet, BaD in his haste to be elated by a possible Dawg loss says the Dawgs got schooled by APB. The fat lady never got to sing to end the game, but BaD just keeps on singing his defeatist song.

Yep! we beat APB and dropped from 99 to 106 in RPI. If the second game had finished even in another Tech win, we would have dropped even more.
