What if I told you that there is a 2X all state, 2X district MVP catcher that hit .450 in HS rotting on the bench that hasn't seen one single inning all year? Would you believe me? FWIW I just started following Tech Baseball this year since I have a kid going there now (not on the team). I look at some of these players Bio's and wonder why they haven't seen any action.

I'd believe it.
We had a stable full of good catchers behind Corona who finally gave up on seeing any PT and left (or quit). Corona could have been given an occasional rest and still kept the bat in his hand, but our best hitter had to be DH because he was also a pitcher.
Bottom line...every team needs a catcher who can give the starter a rest. We've never done it for rest, but only because a certain pitcher or two preferred another catcher.
Burroughs has always mismanaged his teams and always will. It’s in his nature. Whether it’s players, assistant coaches, situational baseball or game scheduling… it’s all the same thing, fundamental decision making and Burroughs absolutely isn’t particularly good at it. All that remains of this standardized underachieving season will be to see what capable players transfer out and what lesser talented players are invited back. I admit that right now we don’t know about any lesser players being on the team because we didn’t see many alternates get to play but you can bet Burroughs has some favorites. The next few months will tell a lot about the years to come. I figure the Dawgs are going to falter even further if Burroughs keeps all or most of his current coaching staff. It’s just who Tech is athletically to always be less that we could be.
Define falter…are you saying 30+wins, bad pitching, and below average hitting against a VERY weak schedule is faltering?
Our own leaders may give him and our pitching coach another raise.
Simply a losing record in conference would likely put Tech below 30 wins. From the looks of the conference some other programs are getting increasingly better which means we’ll be worse. Remember too that our players typically get worse the more Tech coaching they’re exposed to, so for the young guys who played their first year in college it could be the best year they’ll ever have here.
