That means it will only be on Sec+ unless you have a provider. Been there, done that many times. The only exception is if ABC is carrying the game
FWIW the SEC wants to sell their product somewhere that costs more than $10.99 per month
Give me your take on what that exposure does for Tech. Here's mine...
We cut one commercial (usually lame) every year to be used in these games. Sometimes we run the lame commercials from the prior year.
Viewers see the stands with a couple of thousand people in attendance which is horribly embarrassing.
ESPNU and CBSS don't catch many more viewers than an ESPN+ game. Everything is considered "streamed" now. Viewers typically have money on the game and since 2020 we have not covered the spread IF we are ever a favorite. Being a consistent underdog is not a compliment.
Finally, the "national exposure" thing has been throw around for all the years our attendance has either gone down or remained stagnant. National exposure is a bureaucratic buzz phrase.
NOTHING positive is happening with Tech athletics at the time. We are closer to a laughing stock than a respected program. Our leadership, going back to D.R. and McClelland can be blamed for that. No improvements have been made from the President down to the athletic director.
Not even a small if you add tax- Jun 2025 price- Premium Roast Coffee Small which is there old standard 1000 degree coffee is now a $1.00+ tax.
FML, we aren't even worth McDonalds coffee.... and besides being somewhat funny and a whole lot sad here, I agree that the "exposure" we get from the conference deal isn't worth being exposed.
Louisiana Tech Replaces Texas State in Sun Belt, Likely to Play Similar 2026 Slate - On3
Home vs. Arkansas State
Away vs. Troy

Bring back the State Fair game with NSU and play it every year.
6 conference divisional games (3 at home)
2 conference non-divisional games (1 at home)
1 FCS game vs NSU in Shreveport
3 OOC FBS games (1-2 at home)
I think our philosophy will continue to be;
1 FCS $ game at home
1 P4 $ game on the road
1 G5 Home
1 G5 Road
The problem with moving to SBC is our regional opportunities have gotten more limited. But we need to be scheduling Texas schools: UNT, Rice, Houston, SHSU, SMU, UTSA, Texas State. I would love to be rotating between Dallas & Houston/Austin/San Antonio annually.
I think with the money poured into JAS the last 10-15 years, we don't need to play in Shreveport like we once did. What I wouldn't mind is once every 5-6 years playing a P4 game that has a sponsor that pays us and the opponent.
Shreveport is a $hit hole. No need to ever go back again unless it's for that crappy bowl game.
We have some great people who support Tech over there, but I think they know their city is bad and getting worse.
Yep, stay away from playing in Shreveport unless we are forced.
