Am I to understand schools can pay athletes up to a combined $20 million? If so, this is the end of schools like Tech competing in Division I or whatever they choose to call it. And, it should be. Go back to the true mission of universities: education. Can still support athletics but at a lower, much more sensible level. And Tech won't be alone; scores of schools will choose to return to common sense.
The NCAA has spiraled to ineptitude for the past 25 years. ESPN led to the spiral with ever more sacks of money each season. It will eventually collapse...just like Saban predicted.

I wish the B10 and SEC would just both get to 20 each, breakaway do their thing. Leave everyone else to figure out how to restructure and just move on. The NCAA is dead and those two "playing" inside the NCAA, while not for a while having had to play by the same rules just kills it for me.
The students are paid employees, it's not amateur athletics anymore. Just call it a minor league and let's move on.
I think Texas had Lambos parked on their field a couple weeks ago for the recruits…eh..mercenaries to check out on their visits. I said on this board when the NIL ruling came out that it would be the death of NCAA athletics, and that it wouldn’t take long. Right now, the only watched sport that we have any chance of making it in is baseball, and it won’t be long until the Coastal Carolina’s and Murray State’s are a distant memory.
