Slick, that's a very long string of stupid since none of the "Tech" individuals mentioned are a part of Tech (but one).
This is like Hatfield and McCoys. A lot of those names don't exactly give us chill-bumps either.
But, we make our decisions and have to live with them. Guess, somehow, we never peed in USM's pool
The more we wait, the less likely it will happen IMO. I am fine with staying in CUSA and seeing what happens.
I became numb to our leaders “Teching” things up years ago when LG/Mclelland/Holtz were playing not to lose in every sport.
Whatever happens will be due to poor leadership going back even farther than that with DR/Stovall/Loyd. I gave them all I could in between, but if our leaders don’t care why should I?

They'll either invite us or they won't. If they do, we'll go (and should). If they don't, all we can do is keep on in CUSA until something else changes (and it always does).

If so, then it's time to focus on CUSA football. Two newbies: Mo State and Delaware. We owe both some payback. If you have long memories, then you know we lost to SW Missouri State 13-10 during one of our worst years ever...1987?? I think it was. And Delaware! they beat us 17-0 in the 1982 I-AA playoffs. Second straight week of heavy rain, cold, slop that year.

If they are calling for a vote on Monday, one would have to think that they already know that they have the votes, but there’s always the possibility that some of our butt hurt buddies say they’re voting yes just to show up on Monday to vote no.
My prediction of the vote.
Yays: Ark State, Southern Miss, UL-LLLLL, ULM, Troy, South Alabama, Georgia State, Georgia Southern
Nays: Coastal Carolina, Marshall, James Madison
Wildcards: Old Dominion, App State
The eastern schools were never going to add a team to the east due to the Georgia schools not wanting to move to the west division. It had to be a western add. Eastern schools wanted WKU but the UL_ twins and USM were not budging about Tech. WKU didn't have fervent support in the west compared to Tech so to stay at 14, Tech was the only option even if many schools aren't too thrilled.
I hope we get in. This isn’t 20 years where the sky was the limit for us moving up in the college football world. It’s over. As a younger fan, I want to play more regional opponent's. SBC has far surpassed CUSA. I can’t see how “being associated with these schools” in 2025 matters in recruiting pitches anymore. We currently have an abysmal conference prestige. I really don’t look forward to playing Missouri State, Delaware, Kennesaw State etc.
Let’s focus on baseball and become a power in that. And renew the rivalry with USM

We took our shot when we went to the WAC. It was a good move at the time, but the ever-shifting landscape and continued divide financially between the haves and have-nots dictates that we make this move. Get in a regional conference with relative stability. Renew old rivalries. Stop the madness. Delaware?

Tech is waving the white flag! Beaten by the ever-changing landscape of so-called "college athletics." It's not that anymore, it's the minor leagues for the pros. We can't compete in that environment. Time to tuck our tails and join the other have-nots, the never-will-haves, and turn back the clock to the 1970's.
I will say this though, it was a gallant and worthwhile try. Tech gave it the old "college try" and I wouldn't change a thing as it pertains to our desires/goals. Yeah, the execution could have been better, but not the goal.
Also, I still think the SBC is going to eventually split east-west and Tech needs to be associated with regional schools. Heck, we can reform the old Gulf South Conference! (that's the Gulf of America, of course!)
