We never did this back when I was at Tech. Then in recent years I noticed people doing this at games especially during the Alma mater. Who came up with this? Personally I think it’s so lame and just outright embarrassing!!

You raise up your dog ears hand and say, "Sick 'em Dogs, Hoo Hoo Hoo!" We were doing this back when I was a freshman in 2009. Not sure how long before that it started.
You must be class of 1980 too! Great year for Tech graduates, some of the best in school history
I run into Tech folks all over the place and like displaying the hand thingy. No words need be spoken, just an acknowledgement we are Dawgs! For instance, saw a couple at Walt Disney World recently, both sporting Tech gear. I just flashed the sign and their faces lit up with huge smiles and a nod of their heads. Nothing embarrassing about it.
I went through orientation in 1989 and they were teaching it then.
The bulldog hand gesture has been around a long time. We had a thread about this before and it looks students/fans have been doing it in the 80s. Anyone 70s grads know of this?
The spirit hand gesture definitely has been around over 35-40 yrs. I like it. Having a Tech logo on my car, over the years I had many alumns honk and wave the bulldog sign to say Hi.
Yep, it was a thing in the early 90s
