Is there any validity to the rumors about ULM possibly dropping down to FCS?
CUSA released a statement "We were honored that Judy was in a room where people who make decisions have been before, and she is committed to continuing to show up, receive a paycheck, and stand in rooms where other important people make decisions" "We also acknowledge that Judy isn't sure what was happening when other people didn't take the first offered made to them by broadcast networks, when someone in the room told someone else no, and she wasn't quite sure what the words football and basketball actually related too, and seemed surprised when she was told they were sports, but she persevered". " We are thankful to have someone sitting in the chair at CUSA headquarters".
From what I have heard, their finances overall are in dire straits. Worse than us.
Their AD just resigned and they reportedly want to cut their athletic budget by a lot.
Thread at TigerDroppings (strange, lots of "as a ULM grad" over there) https://www.tigerdroppings.com/rant/...ded/119632103/
I doubt it. Doesn’t take much number crunching to realize they can’t make it financially at that level. Income drops way off. Right now their money games are keeping them afloat. Dropping down they lose that. The scholarship savings isn't enough to offset that loss. Cutting more sports isn't really an option and travel cost wouldn't make a big difference either.
