Wait! I have one... Zelenskyy compliments Trump a lot. That is total BS, but he has to to keep Trump from cutting off weapons sales to NATO, who in turn donate them to Ukraine. President Z knows what to say, and not say, to the TACO man. But compliments to Trump? LOL, total BS.
Some, unconfirmed, reports of Chicom troops crossing the border into Russia. Probably true since Xi has been seizing Russian territory without any pushback from Putin/Russia.
Also, early reports of Russians charging Ukrainian positions on horseback. Yes, cavalry! I feel for the horses, not the Orcs riding them.
The Ukrainians bamboozled and embarrassed the goofy Russians again. This time Ukraine faked the assassination of a former Russian, now Ukrainian army intelligence officer, and collected the $500,000 bounty offered by the Russian secret service. Hah!
Putin retaliated by trying to level Kharkiv City, where this former Russian is said to be operating from. Many missiles and drones struck residential areas in Kharkiv.
Things are getting really, really awful in Russia, and that spells big trouble for Putin's evil regime. From the battlefield to the frozen homefront, it has been a bad week for poor ole Vladimir. Lots of news of Ukrainian success on the battlefield, to attacks on Russian O&G infrastructure, to Russia's collapsing economy, to more nations slipping through Putin's grimy fingers. Such as more good news from Moldavia, for instance.
General Winter, long an ally of Russia, has turned on Putin. Severe winter weather, blizzards, record snowfall in places, record low temps too, and a collapsed infrastructure has rendered Russia to be a frozen death trap. Thousands will die, especially in the rural regions of Russia.
Damn! it's what I hoped wouldn't have happened, but it was bound to have. Stupid Russians rode horses in an attack on Ukrainian positions, these defenses had automatic drone machineguns along the front line. Dozens and dozens of dead horses. Yep, dead Orcs too, but it's the horses I care about, they didn't have a choice. Ugh!
And, another ambush carried out by Ukraine, this one courtesy of the 1st Azov Corps. Stupid Russians actually thought they had driven the Azov troops back, how silly! It was a well-executed trap where the Ukrainians pretended to be beaten and withdrew, sucking a regiment of Orcs forward, straight into a trap. About 2,000 Russians and 50+ armored vehicles, tanks and IFVs, plus other vehicles 100% wiped out. Only 312 Russians survived to be taken prisoner. The Russian commander, a colonel, realized the trap early on and could have saved most of his troops but he was ordered to remain and wait for support. That support never came. Whole event lasted about 72 hours. After the first 12 hours Ukraine dropped leaflets asking the Russians to surrender to save their lives, but they were ordered not to.
That colonel and most of his senior staff were among the 312 POWs. He confided with the Ukrainans he smelled a trap when he was informed it was the 1st Azov Corps that was falling back. He said the 1st Azov never falls back and he informed his brigade commander he didn't like it but was ordered to push ahead.
The Louisiana Freedom Caucus, which is mostly a GOP conversative organization (although in theory it's open to like-minded democrats too), published what is considered to be the most accurate accounting of aid to Ukraine. Here are those numbers:
US $134 billion
Europe (all of it) $74 billion
Australia $1 billion
And there has been $millions from dozens and dozens of other nations.
But, that $134 billion, all of it, was pledged by the Biden administration. There has been ZERO from the Trump administration. And, there has been, to date, about $20 billion back to the US in arms' sales to NATO, who then donate that stuff to Ukraine. Not all of this equipment/ammo has been delivered yet; deals are in the process. The grand total of US defense sales to the world is about $55 billion per year. That is projected to be up in 2026 if Trump continues this special sale to NATO.
Even as his army struggles, Putin continues the purges of those showing too much initiative and perhaps seeking too much power. The latest, Colonel Spynoza (sp?) commander of the Espanola Battalion of the Wagner Group, was murdered in his hotel room, apparently in his sleep. He had been "asked" to travel back to Moscow for a meeting and was found butchered, by a member of his staff this morning. That's how the report described it, "butchered." Someone was really pissed at him. Member(s) of his staff were probably involved in the plot. Promised something by Putin in exchange for eliminating the dude.
There is definitely a coup brewing in Russia to oust Putin, and any members of his inner circle of thugs who choose to stand with him. Probably this Wagner colonel is (was) suspected, by Putin, to be part of the plot to overthrow him.
More details on our $134 billion to Ukraine. A good portion of it, I'm seeing reports of nearly $80 billion of it, is mostly "accounting" numbers. We donated mothballed equipment to Ukraine and some accountant arbitrarily assigned a value to it. For instance, the 29 Abrams tanks, which were rusting away on a storage site, was assigned $40 million each, that's nearly $1.2 billion. We donated literally thousands of mothballed Howitzers, in both 105mm and 155mm, plus tons of shells. Haven't seen any $$ value assigned to them, but it is safe to assume the same accounting BS trick was used to determine a value.
Has the US donated the most money to Ukraine? YES. As posted the grand total of all of Europe combined is now approaching $80 billion with recent announcements. But falls short of what the US has sent. As such the US, be it Trump, or the next POTUS, has every right to make demands of Ukraine in terms of economic recovery and future deals. But, again, using the carrot rather than a stick garners much, much better results.
Ukraine continues their long-range drone attacks on Putin's infrastructure destroying, by the latest reports, 67% of Russia's oil storage facilities have been destroyed, and reducing Russian oil production by 35%. Ukraine just attacked and sunk one more of Putin's ghost oil tankers, this latest in the Black Sea. As has been their policy, Ukraine is careful to attack only empty tankers to avoid a huge oil spill. This tanker was returning from India empty to load more oil. Well, not anymore. Turkish coast guard rescued the crew, reported to be Russian and Chinese nationals.
Winter weather, heavy blizzards, have socked in eastern Europe, hampering military operations. What there has been has greatly favored Ukraine as they continue winning along the whole front. Pokrovsk has been liberated as the surviving Russian troops have fallen back to defensive works outside of the city. The Orcs are only a few miles away, but they are no longer in the city.
Moscow and other major Russian cities are suffering power outages as the war on civilian infrastructure continues by both sides.
January 12, 2026 will represent the exact number of days that this war equals Russia's entire participation in World War II. Only back in 1945 Russian troops had taken Berlin and defeated Hitler's army. They have not been as successful in this war.
More on the $134 billion...
that's the grand total from the US to Ukraine dating back to 2014 when Putin invaded Crimea. For two years under obummer the US aided Ukraine with "blankets" as Trump said back then. Then Trump, in his first term, sent actual weapons including $millions worth of Javelins. Also, during obummer's term then VP Biden conducted his infamous scandal bilking $billions on behalf of the Biden Crime Family. Point is, while it is true the US has indeed provided the most aid, more than any other nation, it's been over 11+ years and some of it never actually reached the Ukrainian government.
Speaking of fraud...the mayor of Pokrovsk who misspent money meant to build defenses around that city, just completed his one-year jail sentence and has had all of his personal assets, bank accounts, etc. seized by the Ukrainian government. Wow! what a concept! Politicians who commit fraud actually going to jail and having ALL of their assets seized. Maybe we should try following the Ukrainian model here.
Several YouTubers are making a major case out of Putin using Africans as suicide attack bombers. They strap anti-tank mines to the chest of these poor saps and command to launch themselves into Ukrainian vehicles and defensive positions. If they don't they torture and kill the saps, so a quick death is preferable. Now...this is terrible, of course, but why is it worse just because it is black Africans being made to do this? Would it be okay if Asians, brown people, and poor white fools were being forced to do this? Russians are so okay with this disgusting practice that there are videos released on social media showing the Africans singing and dancing the night before their suicide attacks and Russian soldiers videoing and laughing and commenting, "let 'em enjoy their last night on Earth." This is how low Putin has stooped to prosecute his evil war. But, this is not the first episode of this, two years ago African hired mercenaries were literally given spears and ordered to attack Ukrainian machine gun positions. Nice, eh.
