STILLWATER, Okla. -- New Oklahoma State coach Kurt Budke began assembling his staff his first day on the job, hiring associate head coach Jim Littell and assistant coach Miranda Serna on Monday.
Littell joins the Cowgirls from Seward County (Kan.) Community College, where he had a 453-59 record the last 14 seasons as the head women's basketball coach. His 2002 team won the National Junior College Athletic Association's national title. Last season, the Lady Saints were 35-3 and finished fifth in the NJCAA tournament.
"He is a brilliant basketball mind, and I am so lucky to have him with me," Budke said. "This is another head coach."
Serna, 30, spent the past season on Budke's staff at Louisiana Tech and has also been an assistant at Fresno State, Chicago State and Long Beach State. She played on Budke's 1996 national championship team at Trinity Valley Community College and was an assistant coach on his 1999 national championship team at the school.
"Miranda is a rising young star in this business and I think one of the greatest recruiters in this nation," Budke said.
I'm glad to see that he is taking Miranda with him. She has a good personality, but I'm not to sure about her coaching or recruiting abilities.
For what it's worth, Stacy didn't think too much of her either . . . :icon_wink
