I heard Antony did sign.
The signing of Katie Antony is a big step in the right direction. She will help the program both on and off the court. Her senior year she was one of the top players in the state. Chris Long deserves a lot of credit for this.
ok, now for the important question, when doesn the fan club website go up?
This is a good signing -
Much like DJ needs to drive the truck - Long still needs to bring back the sleeves -

That is great news for the Techsters. I was very concerned about LSU stealing her away. And had LSU gotten her I think it would have sent a stronger signal that we cannot compete with them in recruiting. This indicates that maybe we still can.
Sure we can. We are still the Techsters. They will only win this battle, if we let them. If we use our name and tradition, we will continue to be who we are. Hopefully, we can get that big post player now too.Originally Posted by glm47
I am going to have to agree with glm. This is a good sign for us because of women's bball talent spreading around we can no longer just say we are La Tech in this state with LSU going to the Final Four every year. It is not as easy as it used to be. Women's basketball is much more in the limelight than when we were national champs. People actually saw LSU in the Final Four. Hardly anybody watched Tech win it when we did. I am not trying to put down our national championships dont get me wrong, but women's bball has just become more popular since our great teams.
I don't think the players liked the sleeves. I work with a girl that holds (or held) the NCAA 3-pointer record. When I asked her why she didn't go to Tech, she said she considered going but didn't like that they still wore sleeves.Originally Posted by Dwayne From Minden

Guess that kind of stuff matters.... lol.
Off topic, but here is a great stat site on wbb history. It just goes up to 1998. We have since dropped a couple of these stats to UConn. Interesting information, though:

You can look at it with combined AIAW and NCAA or just NCAA.
I went to high school with Katie so im glad she is comming back to Louisiana. She has a great work ethic when it comes to basketball and she is also a really good student. I think she will be able to come in and make a positive impact on our program.
she's goodlook'n

I'm embarrased to say it but I've forgotten "Piano1"'s name. He is a Tech grad, though. He used to hang around on the Wbball mailing list. He did a nice job on the site, even if it is a bit out of date now.Originally Posted by champion110

I hope she is as good at basketball as she is a looking hot.
Looking good Techsters... Both physically and talently (is this a real word?)
This is great news for the Techsters. I like every move Long has made up to this point. I'm glad he didn't hire the coach from Fort Smith Northside. At least I don't think he did, I've been gone since last Wednesday. From another thread, I saw he hired Brooke and her husband. That's outstanding.
