Noticed in the Monroe paper today The (Shreveport) Times's Jimmy Watson is staffing the Women's Final Four for all the Louisiana Gannett papers.
Wonder if he's covering the Final Two?

Class all the way. She must have learned that from before she came to UNC, because Hatchett woman sure hasn't taught her, and neither has her PG.Originally Posted by champion110

I just never cared for Gail Givesmegasofcourse. I wouldn't be terribly upset if they won it, but I really like that Maryland coach. She looks tough and I wouldn't want to get in a fight with her, though.Originally Posted by gonzajo71

Larkins was grace and class personified at the end of the game.
Latta, on the other hand, should have been ejected from the building. She has great talent, but she acts like a thug, and I for one am DELIGHTED that she won't be playing in the championship game.
Sweet!!!
The only way last night could have been better for me would have been if UNC had lost on a last :00.7 shot due to a sluggish timekeeper. However I can live with the 11 point loss they received
James.
SO TRUE! There were a few of my friends over last night watching it. I kept saying that all UNC needs is .7 seconds to win this thing, so don't get your hopes up about Maryland until you hear the buzzer sound and, even then, you have to wait for the refs to tell you who won.Originally Posted by olddawgfan

I'm just glad that maybe now that UNC isn't in the final game we won't have to watch that clip from 1994 fifteen more times this week.
Did you notice that Hatchell gave Latta a big hug when Latta came off the court--seconds after TACKLING a Maryland player? The parent in me understands the desire to ease the sting of losing and to show appreciation for talent, but being a parent also makes me understand the need to TEACH SOME DISCIPLINE, SPORTSMANSHIP, AND CLASS!
Go, Maryland, go!![]()
Speaking of 0.7 seconds...that clip/game has yet to make it on the top 25 countdown for the 25th anniversary of the women's tournament. They'll reveal the number ONE moment during tomorrow night's game. I'm going to scream if that's it!
And the clock DID stop last night during the UNC-Maryland game at 0.7 seconds. My husband looked at me like time was about to stand still and UNC was going to score 10 points and win. Lucky for him!
Go Terps!
I like Latta a lot. (say that 3 times very fast) But, while I did not appreciate her WWF take-down in a game that was clearly over, I understand that sometimes a competitor doesn't know when to stop. I think that was the case there. She was still battling and as I said, in a moment of refusing to quit, she kind of crossed the line.Originally Posted by Bluebird
But, Latta can play on my team anyday. If I were coaching a WBB team, I'd take her at the point!
But for now it's: Maryland, My Maryland....
