WOW! He has done a tremendous job, but I didn't see this coming for a first round loss.
I think
Brenda Freese from Maryland would have been a wise choice
I totally agree, even though I am happy for Blair.Originally Posted by beaux66

I am not sure who voted for this award, but I have heard that Freese has made some enemies in the coaching profession due to some perceived questionable recruiting practices. If the coaches voted, that might have been part of the reason. I have no idea if the allegations are true or not.Originally Posted by beaux66
Isn't Women's Basketball News Service the one run by a guy named Joe Smith who basically just picks the people he thinks should be chosen? Seems like that's what I've heard anyway.
I don't know anything about that, but it could be true. HOWEVER, I loved seeing her coach tonight. She, obviously, knows what she is doing. Maryland was a blast to watch beat UNC. Taking all those Freshmen and Sophs to the NC game is unbelievable. I am for Maryland all the way now.Originally Posted by hookdown
She was a pistol the few minutes I watched. Like getting nose to nose with a smiling ref . . . and no "T".Originally Posted by champion110

Yes, I saw that as well. She knew how to handle them. The Refs in that game pretty much let the players play too. It was a fun game to watch.Originally Posted by Dawgpix
I like the way the refs kind of let it be a football type contest, you know with the tackle Latta put on that girl.
Kind of gets me in the mood for Fall! None of that grab around the ankles _____.....LOL!
And watch Kristy Toliver (Maryland's PG) talk to the refs. She is smooth. Doesn't hurt to have an NBA ref dad.![]()
