I have been reading the Tennessee fan's comments about this for a few days. Basically, it looks like a playing time issue to me.

That's what happens when you sign with one of the big boys (or girls) when they are already loaded at your position. They can afford to give you a ship to keep you away from a rival. Lots of kids don't look at whats in the fold and how long those players ahead of them have left. They like to say I signed with Tenn, or UConn, etc.

I hope that our coaches push that fact endlessly with the kids we recruit. "Yeah, go to UT or UConn and sit on the bench for 4 years or come to Tech and play right away and get noticed. " Of course, every kid goes to those schools thinking that they are going to start as freshmen and I suppose it is kind of hard to get those ideas out of their minds.


Any news on where they are going to wind up? Sure could use a UT type center in a couple of years...

Is it legal for our coaches to contact these two girls now?

The problem has been that women were willing to sit for a national title -- thus you get UConn and Tenn loaded at the bottom and everyone else scratching. If that's starting to change, that is a really good sign for the sport.

I am not sure if we can contact them or not, I don't think we have passed that point in the recruiting season. I know that NCAA Division 2 is still signing kids.
I am sure that if it is possible and Long and Company wants them they will go after them.

Well, I'd be willing to bet that in order to get their releases, they'd have some agreement to not sign with an SEC school, and probably another top school such as Duke or UConn. I'm sure these kids probably had something lined up before going to Summit. Even so, if they haven't signed on somewhere else yet, Long should be on them if allowable. I'm sure he will be.

This was just rumor, but it seems to be a strong rumor. She will have to sit out a year. Wish we could get that post player, but I bet these girls already had a plan.

Purdue lost two recruits when Kristi left to go to Texas Tech, as well. I wonder where they ended up? I thought they might head to TT and follow Kristi, but I haven't heard anything on that.
