    Remember when...

    Favorite Techster memories (besides championships)

When the fans would begin chanting "Tia, Tia, Tia" when Tia Sossamon would enter the game and foul the hell out of everyone and foul out within 15 minutes!

Debra Rodman playing in full makeup.

    Kim Mulkey's pigtails.

    Weatherspoon...period!

    Venus Lacey....period!

Beating NLU at home, packed house!

    Re: Remember when...

    My fondest memories are similar:

Debra Rodman, not only playing in full makeup, but with big plastic earrings one time. Sonja made her stop doing that. (trivia - did you know that Debra quit the team one time to go to Beauty School? She came back)

Beating the H out of Texas and Jody C. getting angry that the BOP was playing our School anthem right after the buzzer and not allowing Texas to do there song. The Texas band tried to play over the BOP, but were dwarfed by the sound.

Painted banners all down I20 to greet the UT team as they came into town.

MEMORIAL GYM packed to the brim and people stomping on the bleachers to make a deafening sound.

The tradition of clapping in unison until the other team made their first goal. Don't know what happened to that.

    KMR's no look passes.

Trina F. making a free throw with no time left on the clock to beat Vandy in the second round of the NCAA tournament at the TAC.

Our bench being able to beat anyone in the country.

Coming in to the theme from Rocky. The Techsters would run in and then around the whole floor - circling the other team shooting warm ups.

Sonja's outrageous clothes - including high heels, mink coat, and pink Marilyn Monroe glasses.

Opposing teams being TOTALLY shocked by our crowd.

Believe me, it was a happy memory. You have witnessed him winning a few games in his second year.

Long is having to rebuild a program that Budke destroyed. Let's talk again later in the season and next year.

Thank You Im glad somebody else recognized the mistake of a Happy memory and chalked it up as Fixing what Budke messed up. Now Long has to survive this season and some how recruit his but off to make up for Budkes "stepping stone" mistakes. Which I dont think he really realized that Tech womens basketball is not really a stepping stone. HELLO

Long is on the right track if he can continue to bring in the athletes like the kid out of Arkansas. He needs to land some good kids that some of the "powers" are going after and use the motto "Come make a difference with us right away or sit on the bench and hope that you get a chance to play three years down the road" Trust me that type recruiting works. The all americans don't want to sit and wait their turn when they can go in and produce day one.

I meant it as a happy memory as a joke because I know that Budke messed up badly. You can't say you weren't somewhat happy when Budke left. He did nothing but bring the program down. I know he thought he was leaving after the 2003-2004 season, so he didn't recruit, but the team passed on him. Then he knew he was leaving after the 2004-2005 season so he didn't recruit. Why wouldn't Tech women's basketball be a stepping stone. I mean they have only been to evey NCAA women's tournament and won 900 games. The last time I checked the only other program to do that was Tennessee. We should be proud of what the Lady Techsters have accomplished and what they will accomplish in the future.

I think he was responding to the other poster that stated we might should "re-think" that, not to you.
