Be sure to point out one of the biggest lies in the article----that ULL actually turned down a WAC invite 7 years ago when we got in. The truth is, there was no invitation for them to turn down.

I personally don't give a crap about anything the News-Star says. Read just about any of their articles and its easy to see they have a grudge against Tech and Ruston. They aren't worth the time to worry about any of it.
And lately, the sports section in the News Star has been composed of basically NOTHING!
That is the part I find funny. ULL's invite to the WAC. Where are all their fans getting this nonsense. The Wac explored bringing in ULL as a travel partner to UNT but an invite was never offered. You can;t turn down something that was never offered to you. They are dillusional.
Bluecrew -- listened to your program Monday while driving down to BR for workshop. Luckily the signal faded in Winnsboro as the program ended.
Everybody's rebuttals were same ol', same ol'. I kept waiting for you guys to interview the article's writer. Ya'll had all day to get in touch with him for at least a taped phone interview. Gannett's big into tooting their horn when they can. Go the extra step the next time you want to talk ABOUT someone or their opinions. You might find out how much he's full of bull first hand.

Great post!!! DawgPix
Blue-thanks for your always quick reply. At no time in the program did I hear you say you tried to call the guy and get him on. If you did, and ya'll said so on the air, I sincerely apologize.
Just a general comment from one listener . . . talk radio (NOT JUST YOU GUYS) talks too much when they should be interviewing news sources.
BTW, nice interview with the NLULM basketball coach on Wednesday. It's obvious NLULM WANTS to be on 97.7. Interesting strategy. Too bad they're not that way with all media.

Timo no problem buddy...Water under bridge, Yea its always good when a coach calls you and asks if they can get on the air.
Unless it's changed from when I used to listen to it quite a few years ago, talk radio has never been about interviewing news sources, especially sports talk radio. That's not to say that it isn't it done in some instances-only that that is not what talk radio is about. Talk radio is opinion radio. If someone wants the news, they can read a paper or catch a news channel whether on radio or t.v.
Yeah, Dan Patrick never has any interviews on his talk show.:icon_wink:
