Where are all the Saints fans?

What has happended to the Saints? I guess the emotion has worn off and their true colors are shinning through. It appears to me that the Texans might have the last laugh with Mario Williams. The Saints desperately need a pass rusher. And what a dumb move drafting Meachem in the first round when your secondary is that bad. I know it is early and the Saints have too much talent on offense to be this bad, but their defense will hurt them all year. I can already see all the bandwaggon fans jumping off. Go Cowboys!

Cowboys fans talking about bandwaggon is laughable.

Re: Where are all the Saints fans?

There were an estimated 25,000 cowboy fans in Miami and every where they go they have more road fans than any other team. I also can't ever remember a time when I saw fans in Texas Stadium with bags over their heads. Every team has bandwaggon fans and because we are so close to both teams, we see more of them, but Dallas is this most valuable franchise in team sports without having much seccess lately. I guess that's because of bandwaggon fans.

I guess you are right, johnny. The Cowboys probably do have more, but there have been a lot more good times to jump on. Who wants to jump on a sinking ship every year? Oh, except last year. Back to the point, If you are a Saints fan what are you thinking? I still think this team is good enough to win their division and host a playoff game. They will have the same problem I fear the cowboys will have, no defense.

Jason David is a HUGE bust. This team can't run man defense on anybody. That said, the season is still young and the NFC is an easy league to win in. If you're asking if Saints fans are a little nervous about the first two weeks...ABSOLUTELY! But, we'll wait and see what happens.

That's why I was suprised to see them take Meachem. They need help in the secondary and to think David at 5'8" was going to be able to play man in the NFC with all the big wrs was a bad decision. I would be nervouse too. I'm nervous about the cowboys giving up 55 points to two of the worst teams in the NFL. A lot of success in the NFL has to do with how the schedule breaks down. The Cowboys were lucky they didn't open up with Indi on the road or they might have scored 100.

I'll be at the dome on Monday. There a possibility... if a fan next to me boos the Saints, I'll be in a New Orleans jail on Tuesday. Not for beating anyone up, but for harassment and obscenity.

We're still here and if the previous decades didn't run us off, don't think that this start will either. As a fan, I am worried about why the mtivation was not there for the first two games.

Dallas is the most valuable franchise in pro football because Jerry Jones just got the city, taxpayers, and the NFL to foot the bill for about half of a 1 billion dollar stadium that is going to see revenues jump out of the stratosphere. Just to clarify.

I was actually surprised to see us take Meachem as well, although seeing the performance Devery Henderson has mustered thus far in the season, that may not turn out the be such as bad idea should Meachem develop according to his potential.

As far as Jason David is concerned, he has played horrendously. However it's not because of his size at all. He's not getting outjumped or outphysicaled, he's using a zone coverage technique while playing man to man coverage. He's lining up inside of the reciever staring into the defensive backfield trying to get a read on the play by where the QB looks as if he could play an area and jump the route. Problem is, he's not playing the reciever who ends up ten yards past him by the time he realizes what's going on.

If his size was that much of a problem, he wouldn't have done well in Indianapolis' Cover 2 system which prefers bigger, more physical corners (like the ones who start now - Marlin Jackson) to come up and harass the reciever at the line of scrimmage and be strong in run support. The guy is known to be a scrappy competitor and makes up for his lack of size that way. He just needs to start playing his man when the coverage calls for it and stop playing the backfield.

There is a cap on how much taxpayers will pay for the new stadium. I think it is around 300 million. The rest will come out of Jerry's pocket. So there goes that argument. Anything else?

Good one dirty, but lucky for us we won't have to face Brees and the Saint's unless it is in the playoffs.
