Don't me wrong, I think we should FIND A WAY to get Dennis on the field for the majority of plays. But, Champion cannot be relied upon to get the ball to anybody. The passes he completes are mostly guys that are uncovered. Obviously, there were several drops last night--with Livas leading the way--however, my point is WHERE Champion decides to throw the ball. He's always looking for the bail-out or overthrowing the long ball so that it won't get intercepted. The kid just isn't getting it done and I don't think Dennis can help him stop locking in on one receiver or looking to dump the ball off, he has to quarterback.
Check Dooley's comments on the game, he lays the offensive deficiencies at the feet of Champion. Quarterbacks deserve most of the praise and they deserve most of the blame.
