I agree...Les Miles "from nowhere" is just lucky, and he is a piss-poor game manager, which I still thank him for going back to our come-back win over his Okie State.

In the immediate aftermath he chastizes the bimbo reporterette for the question and responds (incorrectly) there were 16-18 seconds on the clock at the time the pass was thrown. Wrongo buster!

    Just dayum lucky.

Oh, and yeah, I can not believe Tubby didn't challenge that spot. They showed that play on Sportscenter again this morning...that guy was a full yard short! Not even close!

    Roll Tide!

you cannot, under any circumstances, use replay to challenge a flag. the flag was thrown for an illegal formation -- which replay confirmed, by the way -- and the refs go to the replay to see if hester gets a td. when they come back from the replay, it's conveniently no flag on the play. that's so ridiculous.

and tuberville deserved to lose for not challenging that spot. murphy came up a full yard short of the first down! i mean, when he stood up, after crawling forward, he still wasn't at the first-down marker. then, boom, the ref spots the ball three inches past the first down. ridiculous! there were several spots that were questionable in that game.

let's call a spade a spade. miles gets lucky sometimes. heaving it toward the end zone on the last play was the dumbest move ever. but he got lucky. if that play doesn't work -- and all that needed to happen was the db, who had great coverage, turning his head and making a play on the ball! -- then the tigers lose and their national title hopes are gone. but it goes back even further. they set the ball up in the middle of the field for colt david to kick a game-winning fg, then inexplicably throw a screen pass back out to the hash mark, right after running the ball to the middle of the field. then, they let the clock tick and tick and tick before throwing for the end zone. if the db makes a play on the ball, there's a good likelihood the clock runs out and the tigers lose! wow. i'm convinced that lsu will lose another game before the season is over, proobably to alabama. and it's because miles simply can't manage a game.
They didn't pick up the flag due to the replay. They picked it up because the line judge confirmed with the reciever that he was on the LOS. The reciever WASN'T, of course, but if you ask the line judge and he confirms your position, it doesn't matter.

They had to pick it up.

I read Miles' lips on that last play and he said "He pushed off!!" Who the hell was he talking about? His own receiver??

Yes, Les Miles is lucky but Les Miles is doing exactly what you need to do to win in the SEC and that is keep your team in position to make a play to win the game in the end. Les Miles' coaching ability is severely underrated. When you go 28-5 in the toughest league of football outside of the NFL, you're doing something right.

Don't you think it's a little weird the announcers kept saying the important fact was the flag but there was no mention of the flag until after they looked at the film.

Why is it Tubby's fault for not challenging the play. Shouldn't the replay officials have called that one down. You can't tell me if it was reversed and that was Auburn's ball there wouldn't have been a challenge. That last play never happens if they review the spot.

It's at least Auburn's coaches in the booth's fault. There is no way in hell that Tuberville could have known if the guy picked up the first down from the sideline. It's not Tuberville's fault.

AWESOME!! Keep up the good work!!! On the west side this one dude wearing a shirt from you know where, came down the steps running really fast in the 2nd quarter. He must have seen you coming. Looks like he was heading for the exits.

If I could get that on the back of a tech game-day shirt I think I would pass out. Keep me posted.
