Why is ULM vs Troy on a Ruston radio station??
ULM games have been on KPCH all year. Guess no station based in Monroe wanted to tie its program schedule up with baseball.
Tech will play Nevada. The Wolf Pack scored two in the bottom of the 7th to beat Hawai'i 2-1.
Looking at the most recent RPIs posted Wednesday, that loss might knock Hawai'i (39 RPI) out of an NCAA bid. That is especially true if Tech (152 RPI) wins the WAC automatic bid. Fresno State (16) and Nevada (25) had higher RPIs and should be safe for at-large bids even if Tech wins the tournament.

Because it is not a Ruston radio station!!!!!!!!!! It is a North Louisiana Radio station with a strong signal in Monroe, West Monroe, Farmerville, Arcadia, etc. The signal doesn't magically shut off at the Ruston city limits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Originally Posted by DocMarvin362

It is a Ruston radio station. The offices are in Ruston and its called "The Peach," for cryin' out loud! You can't be more synonymous with the Ruston area than that.
If you want to be completely technical about it, our home offices are in Michigan. So I guess under that logic, we should be called a Michigan station.
Yes, the station is called THE PEACH and yes we have an office in Ruston, but we are not "Ruston" stations. We are North Louisiana stations. If you worked in the business or sold any kind of advertising, you would know and understand this.

Answer me this. If this station was located in Monroe (meaning office there) do you think they would cover much Tech? I understand where you are coming from Nick. There is obviously a market for it. But there is also a market for Tech in Monroe and they don't want to carry anything of ours.
So does that mean KLPI isn't a Tech station because we can hear it off campus?
It is not that they don't want to carry anything for Tech, it is that they can't because we have the contracts. Just like we bid for and got the contract for ULM baseball. We won it and it has been beneficial for our stations and our reaching out to everyone in North East Louisiana.
As far as the pee-peed in my cherios comments, if you had to deal with this on a daily basis, and your livelihood depended on it, then you would probably understand a lot better.
The television stations with locations in both Monroe and Shreveport cover Tech. Tech is covered faily and equally in Monroe as well, by us. If TV, Newspaper, and Radio Stations shut down their boundaries and said that they were not going to cover and sell anywhere but the town where their office is located. They would go belly- up in 6 Months. That can only work maybe in the big cities like Dallas, Atlanta, etc., but it can't work in this area or any other small market.
We have an ESPN studio in Monroe as well just so we don't have to deal with this "Ruston" Station crap.
