Yes. Kobe is a very good player. He will probably end up as one of the ten best of all time.
A Hall of Famer. But not 3. Not yet. Not close.
Hey I agree MJ is the greatest but Pistol Pete is the guy who nevers gets his due...

Huh? You've gotta be kidding. Right off the bat I can think of at least 12 players who are unquestionably better than Kobe Bryant:

    Michael Jordan
    Magic Johnson
    Larry bird
    Wilt Chamberlain
    Bill Russell
    Karl Malone
    Kareem Abdul Jabbar (Lew Alcindor)
    Julius "Dr. J" Irving
    Willis Reed
    Oscar Robertson
    Bob Cousy
    Rick Barry

You also have to remember that Kobe is 29. By the time he is done if he isn't considered top 5 ever then he definately got the shaft.

I'm sorry, but I have to step in here. HD, you must not watch much NBA. There is no way Karl, Magic, and Larry are on that list and Kobe isn't. Put aside your personal feeling for him and look at this objectively. Kobe has his team in contention for an NBA title against a team with 3 future hall of famers still in their prime. Name one other player on the Lakers who will be a HOFer. Larry had Mchale, Parish, DJ, and a respectable supporting cast. Magic had Kareem and Worthy. Karl only had Stockton, but he never won a championship. Kobe has played with one future HOF and has 3 championships (I don't count the year with Karl and Payton because neither one was at their past hof level).
I am not saying they don't belong on that list, just that if they do Kobe surely does.

I was referring to Rajon Rando. Seriously, Ray Allen is 32. I would consider that still in your prime. After all I am 32 and I know I am still in my prime.

Wouldn't consider him as future HOFer yet..not even close..
But I do agree that Kobe should be on the list of 50 greatest. Better yet, 5 greatest.

He averages over 20 ppg for his career and is probably the best knock down shooter of his generation. I guess it was just a little before your time. Maybe he is no lock, but he definitley has a good shot.

No no no..I meant Rondo. Ray Allen is a great basketball player, no doubt. And yes, I remember him in Seattle (I started watching the NBA when I was about 8.)

Well then, if you have been following the NBA then you should have known the Rando comment was a joke.

Its nice to hear the announcers say that PJ is one of the classiest guys in the NBA. I like Tech to be associated with class and WINNERS! Way to go PJ!
