speaking of unusual time signatures, led zep's black dog has like 8 different time signatures. it's fun to listen to, but almost impossible to play back in your mind unless you've heard it a thousand times (which i have).

If you like Jazz at all one of the most classic jazz albums of all time is "Time Out" by Dave Brubeck. Prior to that album Jazz was mostly in 4/4, Dave experimented with different time signatures and made some of the coolest music ever. "Take Five" has one of my favorite drum solos ever. Even if you don't consider yourself a jazz fan you might give this one a spin.

Agreed. And I'm pretty sure Bob heard this when we were roommates (maybe even had a couple of songs from napster before that).

like inudesu said, i'm familiar with brubeck. i have a couple songs from take five on my mp3 player now. "blue rondo ala turk" (sp?) is my favorite (most of it is in 9/8, if i remember correctly).

Wink Re: What are you listening to Today?

I woke up yesterday morning in the mood to clean house. I like to clean everything once every couple of years whether it needs it or not!! :icon_wink:

I loaded up the CD player with Delbert McClinton and Jerry Jeff Walker albums and have been going like the Energizer Bunny!! I may need a little Chopin or something to calm myself down.
