Q: Some folks seem to believe that the Boise and Hawaii BCS football games, along with Fresno's national baseball title, don't really help Tech. How do you feel about that?

A: "My first question would be, 'relative to what league?' It helps tremendously in recruiting because it legitimizes the competition level of the league. It's a lot easier to go into a recruit's home and show we are competitive on a national scale. It's a very easy sell in the WAC. There are obvious geographic challenges in the league. We don't deny that. But there are advantages."


"Some folks"... how about the NewsStar staff. Dooley was straight forward as all ways with all of the questions. Thought many of the questions were phrased in the negative, especially concerning our budget and student eligibility, but Dooley pointed out where we are and where we are going.

I thought about not posting their link, but saw it on their website. I live in West Monroe, so go there to keep up with local news. Saw the article, and thought there would be some interest.
