The National Republican Party for the first time is expected to acknowledge global warming in its 2008 GOP Platform, according to a draft of the document.
“Increased atmospheric carbon has a warming effect on the earth,” the document said. “While the scope and long term consequences of this warming effect are the subject of ongoing research, we believe the United States should take measured and reasonable steps today.”

More signs that the republicans are also stupid.

Yeah, and to think that so many Republican hard-legs want to encourage this type of behavior from their party leads me to believe that we will be getting more of the same (and worse) in the future.

Bob Barr also says that AGW is for real. If global warming is indeed a hoax, why are our political parties saying that something needs to be done about it?

You trust politicians? Surely you aren't from Louisiana.
Hogwash, Aub. Modern day coal-fired generating plants do not pour a black cloud into the sky. And while people who are paying 9-cent fuel-cost adjustment per kilowatt hour for fuel cost adjustments for power generated from natural gas plants, customers getting electricity from coal-fired plants are paying 1.5 cent fuel cost adjustments per kWh. Give people that choice and see what you get.
