How are you feeling now? LSU will have more talent, but they will also have Les Miles and no QB. I'm kinda liking our chances, if we end on a high note. I'm a DAWG FAN!!!

Sorry, but there is still too much football in this season for me to worry about next season. Particularly not interested in anything lsu right now except
Roll Tide![]()
the way our defense is shaping up, i think we can keep it close. if we have baker and smith back, we will be the best defense in the wac next year. we will miss weldon and quin, but we seem to have the young guys to step up.
offense is a different story. we need to show some life on offense or we will lose. i imagine scelfo will still be here this time next year, so i hope he figures out a way to get it done. we could be scary good with a decent offense.
Yep need to focus on getting a bowl game
NOT LSU
win the WAC. compete in your own pond; then worry about other bodies of water
Nor the flip side of that with Pat Hill's "We can win a National Championship this year at Fresno State!" Then they lose one game and tank throughout their WAC schedule.
The fact is that WAC games are MUCH MORE important than OOC games because WAC wins are what guarantee us a bowl bid.
every win is important. a wac win might be slightly more important than a non-conference win because it counts toward our conference standing, but we would have to be 7-1 in conference to make a bowl on only conference wins. a win in baton rouge would be bigger than any single conference win. i really don't even think that point is debatable.
Not true regarding bowls. We go through this every year...
1. The top two teams, based upon regular season finish, shall receive guaranteed bowl berths.
2. If the University of Hawaii is bowl eligible, and if the WAC has at least three bowl slots, it shall receive a berth in the Hawaii Bowl, regardless of its place in the Conference regular season standings.
3. Once bowl representatives have been determined, a committee consisting of the Commissioner and Athletics Directors not involved in the pool of eligible teams, in consultation with the Conference’s bowl partners, shall select and place team(s) according to the “right team, right place” principle. The Committee shall seek to balance the best interest of the bowls versus the best interest of the Conference and involved team(s).
4. Ties in the regular season standings shall be broken based upon head-to-head regular season competition.http://www.wacsports.com/ViewArticle...&ATCLID=542942
- Two Tied Teams.
The winner of the regular season game between the tied teams shall receive the higher place in the standings.
ok, i guess if we were 6-2 in conference and no.1 or no.2 in conference, we would be guaranteed a bowl at 6-6.
my point still stands. a win in baton rouge would be bigger than any SINGLE wac game. one could even argue that a win in auburn would be more important than any single wac win, but i won't.
"but we would have to be 7-1 in conference to make a bowl on only conference wins". <- Not true.
Tech only has to finish second in the WAC and be bowl eligible to get a guaranteed WAC bowl bid. 7-1 is not a requirement and never has been as is the case THIS SEASON. Every WAC team except Boise already has 2 losses, so a 7-1 WAC record isn't possible for anybody but Boise.
