That is the best sports article that the news star has written in a while regarding womens basketball. Heaven knows there has not been anything of interest around this part of the basketball country to write about.. When i read the article about Coach Barmore and Kim it was just like old times. Can not wait to see a game it will be great. I did watch one on tv this past weekend but it is not the same as being there..

It was a good article, but it brought back memories of the good ole days and reminded me how far we have fallen. I is very sad to see all that Greatness and Talent sitting together on the baylor bench.
    What a shame.

".....Kim is doing a superb job of coaching. She’s always had that tenacious competitive mentality and she has these players believing in every word she says. They believe they can win because she has given them that great will to win." Leon Barmore

Kim has given her players (who in Barmore's opinion aren't "great" yet) the WILL TO WIN. More than anything else, THIS is what is missing in the Techster program now. The Techsters are in the WILL TO SURVIVE mode....and barely accomplishing that. That is Long's legacy with this team. Survival mode.

Still waiting and hoping to see more than ONE good game in a row this season. Happy we beat Utah, but then again, it's Utah.

Re: This certainly made my day

There were three other separate articles today about Leon Barmore coaching with Kim Mulkey at Baylor in addition to the one by Keith Prince in the News-Star today:

Buddy Davis, Ruston Daily Leader -- "Barmore: A rebirth at Baylor, Ex-Techsters' coach enjoying new life with Lady Bears' program"
    http://rustonleader.com/sports.php?id=4817

Jimmy Watson, Shreveport Times -- "Together again, Kim Mulkey, Leon Barmore rejoin forces to guide Baylor team"
    http://www.shreveporttimes.com/article/20090114/SPORTS/901140317/1001&referrer=NEWSFRONTCAROUSEL

Brice Cherry, Waco Tribune-Herald -- "Mulkey mentor enjoying role as assistant for Lady Bears" http://www.wacotrib.com/sports/content/sports/college/2009/01/14/01142009wacbarmore.html

Apparently triggered, to some extent, by a recent press conference by Kim and Leon together, Leon's first since being at Baylor.

I can not wait until Saturday taking a trip to Waco looking so forward to seeing Kim and Leon back together again and to actually see some great basketball.

Well, have a nice trip over to Waco! no doubt you will see a great game and a couple of great coaches on the sidelines and hopefully a good game as well...
It might be a let down from the fireworks you might see if you make it to the Techsters vrs. Fresno game at the Thomas Assembly center on Friday night in Ruston!
This is the game any Techster Fan is going to want to see!
    Go Techsters!
