Great News! The economy, which for me isn't that bad, stable job and the low interest rates have me on the way to purchasing a house in Monroe. I hope the ulm prof next door enjoy's my Tech flag in the yard.
Drove by Sonic yesterday at 4:00pm. There were approx. 10 cars in the pull up slots and at least 10 at the drive though window. Who are these people who go to the drive through at Sonic? Do they think they are saving time?
If you drove through at 4 PM, you were observing the tail end of happy hour. They may not have been saving time, but they were saving money!
Oh, I see, you are talking drive THROUGH versus drive UP. I have to admit, I am one who typically does the drive through. For me, it is because my parents always tip when they do the drive up, so to avoid any feeling of guilt about not tipping, I just do the drive through. It seems to be a crap shoot. Watching other drivers, sometimes I get through faster in the drive through, sometimes drive up customers are faster.
I don't know why there is a difference, but when I'm going to Sonic and I spy 0-1 cars in the drive through, yes, the food is served quicker . . . FWIW.

I knew when they started putting the drive throughs in at Sonic the service would go to crap. So based on your expert evaluation they cater to the drive through folks first. After several bad experiences at the Cypress street Sonic I laid down the law in my house a few weeks ago..."I better not see another Sonic ANYTHING in this house again!" I also have that rule for Raisin' Canes' overpriced crap. Steak is cheaper.
I worked at Sonic for a very brief time, but it was the time when they built the new Sonic in Walker. The idea was that customers would know to only use the drive through window if all they wanted was something small, like a Coke. They felt they were losing a large part of the fast food market by not being able to cater to people with small, quick orders.
The woman in front of me at Walmart was complaining about the economy and noted that "it costs me $80 to get all the hair products I need."
Phrases like that make me think a recession would be good for the people in this country.
Recessions are good, because market forces are the only things that really provide the reinforcement and punishment people need to develop sensical financial management.
I think that I agree with you. I did a little self assessment and cut out a whole bunch of services that I was paying for which were crappy little nickel and dime things that weren't doing me any good. It's added up to a good chunk of change. LTAC donation is staying the same.
On nearly the same subject, I get into with Lindsey everyonceinawhile about her tanning membership. She goes about once a week and has a $30 monthly membership there.

This doesn't apply to you, but I think the state of Florida should institute a 100% tax on tanning beds. The name of the tax should be the Anyone who is stupid enough to pay for something that is in abundance for free is likely to be stupid enough to pay this Tax.
