What's up with this? I thought we had a "tie in" to the GMAC bowl; I guess it's CUSA vs ACC. Way to go Benson!

With the WAC still having a contingency tie-in with the Poinsettia for 2009, at best it takes 5 bowl-eligible teams to even have a team to possibly make available to any other bowl.
No great loss since there was nothing there to lose.
So they just up and dropped the MAC huh? I always thought the MAC was a poor fit for that bowl.
Nope....GMAC Bowl is now ACC #9 vs MAC. CUSA picked up the Hawai'i Bowl and dropped GMAC.
The Pac 10 had 7 tie-ins for 2008-2009, and it will only have 6 for 2009-2010. Considering the Pac 10 only had 5 eligible teams last year, that probably isn't a bad move. It might actually have a team to fill the Poinsettia bid to keep the WAC from getting it again.
I'm not suprised at this, it seemed that Boise is a rather snubbed location for a bowl game. But Mobile isn't much better, but sure is warmer in the middle of winter!
Was rather looking forward to a bowl game there, the location seems regional enough to give us a sizeable enough crowd.
I am sure when all the number crunching comes down, we would be more likely go to a GMAC Bowl than a Poinsetta Bowl. At least I can try to be opptimistic:icon_wink:
