Tell me about it. We are not good enough for our fans to throw in the towel after losing to a SEC team. Get off your high horses people. Everyone on this board put a mediocre Mississippi State team on a pedestal last year and threw a decent Auburn team in the trash before the season even started this year. We still have the rest of the season in front of us, look forward to it!
First off, I am disappointed but......
No way Boise "destroys" Auburn. Auburn is a typical SEC team - very strong in the trenches and great speed. Boise beat a mediocre at best oregon.
Dooley can blame the AD that allowed MS State to trade away our game to Auburn so they could schedule jackson St. If we play Ms State we have a chance to win. No way we should have scheduled Auburn.
This was one of the two sure losses I saw this year with 4 toss-ups - Navy, Boise, Nevada and Fresno. Those are the games that will make or break our season and we should be able to compete. last year we one some close games against some not so good teams - that should have been an indicator that this season could go either way.
We still don't have an offense and our defense was overmatched tonight.

This loss makes the WAC look terrible. The conference is simply a one trick pony. Tech, Nevada, San Jose all had chances to at least look competitive against BCS schools and all bombed while Boise goes out and takes care of business in a ho-hum fashion against a decent Oregon team. The WAC really is hurting Boise and it is no wonder they'll jump in a heartbeat to leave.
Especially with BYU beating Oklahoma tonight...
Paige earned a starting job tonight. Victorian needs to sit on the bench the rest of the year.
We took bad angles all night. To keep containment you go down the line scrimmage. The RB will come to you, but if you run to where he WAS, then you have missed him. I learned that playing high school football at Arcadia. You would think that a college football team would be coached on how to take appropriate angles to stop the rush. Navy's triple option is going to eat this rush defense up next week, UNLESS we learn proper techniques before next week.

I was severely disappointed in the 2nd half. I thought that if we could keep it close at halftime (which we did), we would have a good chance of winning because of our conditioning. What the hell happened?
That said, I also think Auburn is going to be better this year than a lot of y'all are saying. They were not a "bad" team.
I don't get real excited about wins over Nicholls St, NMSU and Idaho. In my book it's about playing ALL THE GAMES.....not just the easy ones. This game was one of the better games on our schedule that was winnable, because Auburn is a bad football team.

AU's defense was way too much, but Malzhan won that game. I honestly believe that the AU team is MUCH better than we thought, even though their pass defense was suspect, IMO. Chizik did one great thing, and that was get a great staff. I'm not saying the glass is half empty though....Nevada looked worse than us, and Boise, even with the win...didn't look as offensively potent as last year.
I love my Dawgs and I'm sticking with them.
Just because they are related to the canine family doesn't make them dawgs.
