I started to go around introducing myself as Teatech at the game saturday just for laughs but I didn't do it. DogtorEvil gave me the idea at the Navy game when everyone he met his first question was "Teatech?".![]()
I think the Greek tailgating is in Hideaway park now.
There was still plenty of free tailgate space in the grass area across the street from Hide Away (just West of the TAC). You had to dodge the gravel piles this week, but that is not usually the case. You also need to get there before they block off the road (around 12:00) or you have to jump the curb on Alabama.
I don't know who had the idea to put us there, but I think given time it could be a small Grove type atmosphere. It has potential. Parking is better since a lot of people live on Penny Lane or in Collegiate Station. The walk to the stadium is the only down side. Being on the hill we were right across the parking lot from it. Does anyone on here know the last time the greek section wasn't on the hill?
We have been in hide away for the last two years and been saying the same thing....lots of potential there for an awesome experience. The walk to the stadium is not that bad either...
If we can just keep the cops and agents out of there and let our students tailgate without having to worry about getting tickets for drinking, it could be a cool place to be on Saturday's. Saw them right tickets for at least 30 minutes in hide away on Saturday. And we wonder why our students come out and enjoy themselves like every other school in America.
I was talking to two cops this weekend with a beer in my hand, they didn't say anything.
There is going to be some changes in tailgating next year. Not going into details because I don't know all of them.
I've heard this from a decent authority, and I believe it too.
Alcohol is allowed PRE-GAME on gameday.
4 years ago, we were harrassed. Now, the cops smile and wave. We were playing beer pong out in the open on the hill saturday. Nobody cared.
