good luck, coach hines. i've missed your play calling the last couple of years.
Guys,
We need to get off of Conroy's ass. He has been one of the most loyal people at Tech for years. Whether or not you like his coaching you need to remember he did tons for his university in so many ways. You guys are quick to blame him for the short comings of the wide receivers, however you want to only give the wrs credit for the year he coached 4 of them to 60+ catches. Additionally, he was the OC for some decent offenses (one of which scored 40+ points like 7 or 8 games in a row). I for one appreciate his contributions to the school and hope he does well in his new role at UNT.

I agree that this is interesting. Conroy's wife has been a math professor at Tech for quite a few years. I wonder if this means that she is also leaving. I agree that Conroy has been very faithful to Louisiana Tech and I appreciate his service.
There have been times when his loyalty has probably hurt him. I'm sure he wants to be a head coach someday, but only having experience at one school is probably keeping him from being considered for head coaching jobs. Getting other experience is good for him, and I wish him well.
If there is one thing I can't stand about this board it is that we eat our own. Conroy was a former player, alum, coach of some good teams and offenses and did a great job making sure athletes stay eligible, get their degree, and finish school. Why can't we be happy for him, wish him well, and congratulate him.
And he was great at guiding the players through their classes and he was one of the main reason's those team's had such a HIGH graduation rate...
Forget what he did on the sidelines, what he did with them in the classroom was his greatest work while on our staff -

I wasn't referencing this thread, just the overall hammering of Conroy and his contributions. I don't think I need to go back and research the posts, everyone knows he has been hammered on the board many times. I didn't want this thread to head in that direction. This is a good move for Conroy and again I wish him the best. DFM, I agree his contributions off the field were unbelievable.

I'm with you fellers.
