Although, I did eat at one in New Braunfels, TX, a few months back that was very well run. Dwayne will not be surprised to learn that the entire staff was Hispanic. (Who am I kidding; they were Mexican. Hispanics live in Florida and New York.)
I got AWESOME service at one somewhere in panhandle country of texas a couple of years ago. Forget the name of the town but it was almost all Hispanic staff. Place was spotless clean. I wish a few would apply here at my business in Shreveport.:icon_wink:

The next time I am in Ruston, I will probably be looking for a good cup of coffee. Any clues on where I can find one (besides Starbucks)?

Tell ya what, the one's I'll NEVER go back to are Popeyes, Burger King, and Sonic(California Ave). The Ruston establishments have some of the rudest and most apathetic employees I think I've ever run across. Honestly, I can't remember the last time ANY employee at one of the above mentioned has ever said "thank you" or "have a nice day."

My mother-in-law still perks a mean cup ... it must be due to her personality ..... chalk it up to 70+ years of experience too.

Does Ruston have a Tropical Smoothie? Great shakes and sandwiches. We've also got a Taco Bueno- much, much, better than Taco Bell. Ruby Tuesday's is also real good. In the last 5 years there's been a bunch of restaurants built in Conway. If anybody's thinking of building a restaurant in Ruston, they should come to Conway and check out the ones here.

Since I don't drink coffee, I can only comment on what I've heard about the coffee: the Frothy Monkey is a coffee shop (http://www.frothymonkey.com/) located in downtown Ruston. I've been a few times: Neat little shop, not corporate....decent smoothies.

It's a swanky joint that usually caters to the liberal arts students (reading/writing poetry, etc.).

Evidently they're opening a shop in Nashville...

I like Cresent City Coffee. It is located just south of the interstate (next to Pizza Hut) on Trenton. They make all sorts of coffee drinks, but I usually get a cup of dark roast or an americano.

What are they doing to Huddle House? Remodeling? Closing? Changing to something else? I'm not recommending coffee there by any means, but the little old men in town met there for years for coffee and gossip.

reminds me of the Popeye's in Farmerville. Well, if you have to go to the BK in Ruston or West Monroe, you should order your food, go next door and order from another place and eat that first. You will be hungry again when your BK meal is ready.

There was a civil engineering professor that "had his office hours" at the Huddle House during the early morning hours...the kicker: if you showed up for help, you paid for his breakfast. I'm not sure how many people actually went up there.
